Deep in the depths of trans-space, mythical monstrosities are said to lie in wait for passing starships, hoping to snack upon the bodies and souls of the helpless sailors within. Among these are the legendary cephalox, organisms which defy conventional classification. Cephalox are most often thought of as akin to a transdimensional virus, invading and rewriting the DNA of victims in order to transform their bodies into tentacled spreaders of the cephalox 'disease'. Such spreaders have no fixed form, no fixed color, no fixed anything, really. The only things all cephalox have in common are their glossy flesh, suckered tentacles, tubular tendrils and alien members with which to spread cephaloxy, and a tendency for cephalox to absorb their intended targets during copulation as often as they do create new independent cephalox.
