A group of fey'li demonstrate how the von'kir used their exotic energy field portals to 'process' large numbers of captives into emaciated 'shriv' pets. Theoretically, one might actually be able to reverse the transformation by passing through the portal backwards withing a certain and very limited timeframe. The von'kir generally never allowed this to happen, save on certain occasions where they might toy with a captive by making them go back and forth, never knowing when their captors would tire from the game and leave them permanently transformed.
