XenoExperience Law
Modern XenoExperince Law within the Feyli Empire was crafted under the personal direction of Empress Morie Avaya Feyla. This took place between the years 4576 and 4579, and was a direct response to her own mother's experience being transformed into a rowa worm combined with the Empire's looming population fueled resource crunch.
While the exact composition of XenoExperience Lay in the Empire is somewhat complex, there are several basic principles which the general public are expected to be aware of, and follow as appropriate.
- The freedoms of physical experience offered by XenoExperience Law only apply to sound minded adult citizens of, and visitors to, the Feyli Empire. All others are prohibited without exception from engaging in experiences governed under XenoExperience Law.
- Xenoexperiences may have permanent effects on both the body and mind of the participant. Participants who consent to the initiation of a xenoexperince consent to all consequences of that experience, regardless of their nature.
- Consent to participate in a xenoexperience must be made on a fully voluntary basis. Tempting, coaxing, and various traditional marketing strategies are considered acceptable means of acquiring consent. The purchase of consent from a willing individual is allowed. Forcing consent in any way shape or form, however, is considered a Class X Felony.
- Xenoexperiences are generally considered to adhere to the 'One Consent' rule, though commercial purveyors generally make sure that the prospective participant doesn't have second thoughts prior to initiation. This is not required, however, and initial consent is generally considered final.
- Individuals who voluntarily enter 'xenoexperience environments' such as properly marked alien abodes, xenoexperience shops or attractions, or biogel equipped homes, are considered to have consented to whatever they might encounter inside. While owners and/or operators of such environments have considerable latitude with respects to their guests, special warnings on the specific hazards must be posted when the potential for totally involuntary xenoexperience exists. Failure to properly post appropriate warnings, or sets of rules where applicable, negates any protections provided by xenoexperience law to the owners/operators of xenoexperience environments.
- Xenoexperiences may alter the participant sufficiently as to render them sapient objects. Under XenoExperience law, these objects are considered objects unless they can be reverted to their former, or equivalent state.
- Certain xenoexperiences are endemic to particular alien species or cultures. Participation in these experiences is considered consent to any extended life experience considered appropriate by the species or culture. Being transformed into a rowa servant-creature means joining the hive as a permanent resident, for example.
- Under XenoExperience law, local governments may establish certain events for locals and tourists where certain aspects of the law are temporarily altered or suspended in certain specified locations. For example, the rowa are permitted to 'hunt' twice a year in the city of Mashiva's parks, where the simple state of being naked is regarded as consent. This also extends to homes in which rowa have been invited as well.
- All xenoexperiences not directly involving personal physical relations between consenting adult members of sapient species must be registered with, reviewed by, and approved by the Imperial XenoExperience Bureau.
