Hello, -Do I need a hot end mount when using MSDD plate? Seems moving the hot end anywhere else from the plate would disrupt the filament feed. If it does not use the hot end mount, do I still need the "long" ducts? -which skirt do I use for the MSDD setup? -After reading through assembly and parts selection, you mention a spacer for ABL sensors on the ender 5, but there isn't a file matching what is referenced.

Hello there! I'm installing this mod on an Ender-3 and I joined the Patreon because of the tremendous work you've done! Astonishing! So far, I've printed theese: - HMG6-dual-4010 - HMG7.2 Universal Upright Base V2 - HMG7 Creality OEM-CR10-Ender3-5-MK8-MS Mount - HMG7 Ender 3 V Wheel X Carriage - HMG7 Ender 3 Series Gantry Clip Now I have to select the parts that will hold the Cr-Touch and I'm driving nuts by part selection. Can anyone help me please? Do I need to print anything else besides the CR-Touch holer, I feel like I'm missing something important... I'm printing all the parts in other printers and I really need the Ender 3 to be fully assembled by tomorrow. Thanks in advance!

- HMG7 Creality OEM-CR10-Ender3-5-MK8-MS Mount Printed! What´s really troubling me are the CR-Touch mount and wing. No idea which to select... Thanks Shawn

I'm not familiar with that, sorry. I missed seeing that file you posted the first time. Good luck!

Hello there! Will it be possible to you to guide me trough the selection of the CR.Touch setup part selection for an Ender 3? Thanks in advance!

Looking to figure out if I have printed all the proper parts because nothing is lining up properly Ender 3 Max Neo with Creality Spider 3 Pro high flow high temp hot end bowden can you tell me what files I need I have been at this for a little while now and have been running my S1 Pro non stop trying to make the parts that end up not being correct

Main issue is the hot end mount. Am I supposed to use and E3D Style?

Andrew Soderberg

For the MSDD, no, you do not use a Hotend Mount as the hotend is mounted to the MSDD X carriage due to the extruder being pre-mounted there (the filament path needs to stay straight). The skirt is: HMG7.2 Micro Swiss DD CR-Ender3-5-MK8 Skirt V3.stl You also need: HMG7 Micro Swiss DD MK8 Top Cap.stl The ABL spacer was for the Gen6 kit when using a PrinterMods X carriage.

Andrew Soderberg

For the CRTouch with the part cooling ducts you've selected, you would need to print these two STLs: HMG7 BL-CR Touch Medium Left Wing V2.stl and HMG7 CRTouch Standard Mount.stl Since you have selected to use the Ender 2 V Wheel X carriage (replacing your stock metal one) you do not need the Gantry Clip. IF you want to keep your metal X carriage, then in addition to the Clip, you want to print HMG7 Ender 3-Pro Gantry Adapter.stl to mount to the metal x carriage.

Andrew Soderberg

I believe it is most likely that Creality has yet again changed the layout of the X carriage for the Ender 3 Max Neo (compared to the Ender 3 Max). I would need a STEP or STL of the E3 Max Neo X carriage to create a Gantry Adapter. Without that, then I would need a picture of the bare X carriage with calipered measurements of the plate's dimensions as well as all of all the mount holes (center to center and center to two sides). If you are up to helping, here are a couple examples of what I would need (barring a STEP or STL file). https://imgur.com/a/iNMw5XG

Thanks for the response. The 19mm EZABL mount does not work for the EZABL pro. The mount covers the calibration screw. FYI.

I found an STL of the carriage. https://www.printables.com/model/317017-ender-3-max-neo-carriage-assembly

Hello there. I just joined your Patreon and I am mighty impressed with your work. I am trying to figure out what exactly do I need for my Anycubic Kobra Max (which is actually a Vyper on a bigger size frame). It uses clone BMG dual gear extruder in Bowden configuration and clone of E3D Volcano. I'm still trying to decide if I want to go direct drive or not. Fans will be dual 5015. I also want to ditch the original via nozzle ABL and put a CR-Touch instead. Till now I figured out: HMG7 Anycubic Vyper Gantry Adapter V2.stl (fits perfectly) HMG7 Anycubic Vyper Heat Sink Brace.stl HMG7 Vyper Stock Collar Mount Skirt V2.stl HMG7.2 Universal Base V2.stl HMG7.2 Long Lightweight 5015 Left Brace.stl HMG7.2 Long Lightweight 5015 Right Brace.stl I was trying to find E3D Volcano mount (you even mention it in the video), but the only thing I found was HMG7 E3DV6 Collar Vyper Stock Mount A.stl (which is HMG6 part) and HMG7 E3DV6 Collar Vyper Stock Mount B V2.stl (which doesn't make sense for me). Then I went to the documentation and there is mention "some esoteric assemblies that may need a very different process due to the unique nature of the setup (e.g, Anycubic Vyper setup)" Would you be so kind and give me a proper list of parts to print? I'll try to figure out the process of assembling myself first (unless someone already asked for it and you have it ready to copy and paste). Thank you in advance!

Hi There, to tack onto this. If I want to use the Ender 3 VWheel X Carriage, to replace the stock metal one, how would I go about mounting the belts since the belt mounting points are part of the Stock Ender 3 Metal X Carriage? Is there a file associated with the Ender 3 V Wheel X Carriage that I haven't been able to locate that I could use? Please advise?

I was curious if there is any images or anything that shows where the threaded inserts go for sure?

What abl wing/mount is the best to get clear of a double 5015 fan shroud with my crtouch?

Anonymous

I too have the same question as Fredrich, please assist

Anonymous

Cannot find the 5015 lightweight fan mounts/ducts you describe in the video. Have they been released yet? Thanks

Really useful and well presented. Thank you.

THANK YOU

Ahhh so that's what the clip is for, just finished printing the main pieces so will have to print a clip as well.

Is there official support for the Ender 3 S1?

Andrew Soderberg

I am sorry but integrated extruder/hotends including the Sprite on the Ender 3 S1 (along with the Micro Swiss NG, BIQU H2, Titan Aero, E3D Hemera, and the Bondtech LGX Shortcut), are not compatible with the current Hero Me design architecture (including Gen7). They are all too large, too wide, to fit into a Hero Me Base. The Hero Me was designed before these integrated extruder/hotend combos were developed. To make a Hero Me fit these assemblies it would no longer be a Hero Me as it would not be compatible with any of the hundreds of parts from both my Master Suite and the over 650 remixes and add-ons created by the community. The only way the Hero Me Gen7 can support the Ender 3 S1 is if you wanted to completely replace the stock S1 Sprite extruder/hotend with any of the popular 3rd party extruders and hotends. On a more positive note, I have partnered with another 3D designer/ mechanical engineer to develop Hero Me based part cooling ducts with ABL mounts for the Creality Sprite S1 and the others listed above. We’re a couple months away from having them ready.

While some collars are smooth, others like the Rapido have small grooves which prevent it from rotating in the mount. I would like to see a mount that doesn't damage the collar (for the ones that come with grooves) :)

I'd say the only confusing thing I've run into so far is that your hotend mounts aren't named in a way that I can find mine. I'm just using a stock Creality hot end on my ender3v2. You even show it in the video, but I'll be damned if I can figure out which file translates to that. And the written guide seems to only have a short paragraph about choosing hotend mounts.

Andrew Soderberg

The Creality stock hot end is labeled 'OEM' for original equipment manufacturer. Look for "OEM-MK8-MS". The Creality hotend is an MK8 clone. I am working on additional updates to the docs. I will be sure to add this and other part selection tips.

I think what I'm missing is a guide that tells me where the brass fittings go for each part. Not necessarily how to install them. I think YouTube has that covered. But as I was assembling mine, there are a LOT of holes. Some are for screws to pass through, some are for brass fittings, some are "Lego" receptive and some are lego receptive AND brass fittings. I've really had to reverse engineer this by pausing your video a whole bunch and interpolating the part you're showing with the part in front of me to see where and how they go. But I really appreciate these two videos. They did help a lot and I'm very grateful for the work you've done.

Andrew Soderberg

I will work to improve the documentation to call this out more. For the Hero Me Base, it is really quite simple, ALL holes get M3 threaded inserts. For any hotend mount where the holes with the 'lego' pins, those holes do not get inserts. Of course the filament path does not get inserts. Most all other holes on hotend mounts and extruder mounts get inserts (except when two holes line up, only the tapered hole gets the insert. the other exception is any hole that lines up with the extruder - stepper motor mount holes. No inserts there, as the stepper is what the screw threads into after passing through the mount and the extruder). I hope this helps (until I get more details added to the docs.
