Potential spoilers for the ending of Sallas if you haven't already read it!

So now that the story is finished (I should be uploading the full story in one go tomorrow) I thought I would talk a little about the writing process. Maybe it's something I should do with each of my stories as they finish.

From first opening the Word document to clicking save for the final time after editing was almost 18 months. It took a long time to write for a few reasons. Firstly, it is very long. I think that outside of Bad Husband it is the longest story I've written by some margin. Secondly, there was a lot of difficult subject matter and in a lot of places I had to be very careful how I wrote situations to prevent the story becoming too dark. Thirdly, and I think this is the main reason for the long writing... It wasn't really an ABDL story. Not a typical one that I write anyway.

No, this story was less an ABDL story and more a regular story that happened to have diapers involved. The main focus wasn't the babyish aspects but the patriarchal and dystopian ones. This obviously isn't to say that the diapers played a big part, they obviously did, but for me the main focus was always supposed to bein Ryan and Anna.

I attempted to write the story in a way that kept things a little ambiguous. My aim was for people to not be sure what Ryan would ultimately choose when push came to shove: His wife or his career. I don't know if I was entirely successful but that would be something for you guys to tell me.

It might be interesting that I didn't know how I was going to finish the story until relatively late on. I knew where I wanted it to go, I knew where and what the final scene would be but I hadn't confirmed what would happen.

In the end the ending I settled on was a little ambiguous but hopeful. Ryan chose his wife but the future is an uncertain one. This isn't a society that forgives and forgets, walking away from college and a career means things will be tough. Really tough.

The reception has been mixed, I think. I hope a lot of you liked it buuuut I can definitely understand why some didn't. It wasn't as ABDL-y as a lot of my other stuff, it was a slow build and it was long. If you weren't on board at the start you either got sick of it and stopped reading or wished it wasn't taking one of my upload spots. I completely understand!

I can reveal that there is a sequel being written. I'm relatively early in the story but I think it will be a lot shorter than the original. I certainly hope it doesn't take another 18 months!

The sequel is tentatively titled "Sallas: The Gilded Cage" and I will leave you all to wonder what that could mean :P

Sallas was a over all good story it's ending was kinda open ended and you usually have a epilogue that wraps everything up. Ryan and Anna had great development. The next story might be some kind of t.v or theater unless the title is metaphoric somehow.

I watched weekly for it! Thought it was a great story! I felt that the end was sorta short or primed for a part two. Makes me wounder if they end up caught and retrained? Would be cute to hear about the only little boy? Or their time together at the finishing school with Jane? Or how they break her out and take her to safety? Lots of options for the sequel lol love your writing and appreciation it !

Glad you enjoyed it :) There is a whole world out there for Ryan and Anna... It's just a shame their part of it is so hostile.
