To add on to the Level 5 and Yokai Watch discussion. It can’t be understated how huge it was in Japan where people started calling it a Pokémon killer AND Pokémon responded to it They made the Sun and Moon anime in the style of stuff like Yokai Watch and other similar kids things at the time. This was a big controversy since Pokémon XY’s anime had a much more shonen feel to it
