Hello everyone,

Last week Tom finally released a demo for his game: White Lavender!
He is very excited about the game and will continue this month making content for the full release.

"I'm a bit tired right now, because I worked very hard last week to finish the demo. So I'll take it slow for a few days to recharge! But I also can't wait to make new content for the game haha." - Tom

Ruben has been working on Deer Hunter III

"I added a day-night cycle, lens flare, starry nights, more clear borders between biomes, and even horse-(or deer-)back riding!
Still have a long way's to go with this one, but I want to make it as good as it can be. Next up is adding more AI to the animals and after that some hostile foes to make it more dangerous. Will be very fun to see it all come together at some point... I hope!" - Ruben

Aran has been working on localization for his Patreon game: Stacklands

"I spent the last week localizing Stacklands and the code part is now done. I sent it to the translators that will translate it to 12 different languages!"- Aran

Tijmen has decided last thursday to cancel his latest Patreon game idea (a tile laying village builder) because he wasn't happy with the game's mechanics after all.

"One of the design problems I had was that I needed to explain a lot about the tiles in the UI, like what the effect was of a forest tile lying next to a village tile.
I played some Dorfromantik that came out last week and figured that they already solve this issue by portraying a piece of forest on an edge of a tile to indicate that the tile's placement bordering a forest tile is beneficial.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized the game would be better if it was was Dorfromantik, which I don't want to clone. That's why I canceled it for now.

However, no panic! I already came up with a brand new idea that I think is really cool. I hope to be able to show that off soon. (it's an action game about farming)

This cycle has been somewhat rough for me, because this is the third project restart I had to do, leaving me only with a single month left for my original deadline. I already know I will probably need some more time, so I aim to finish this game somewhere late June probably!

Discarding ideas that don't work is a big part of designing/creating things, but it can also be very scary. I think analyzing why things don't work, being honest to yourself and talking to others about it can help a lot!" - Tijmen

That's it for now, see you next time!
