Dear patrons,

Starting this March, we're switching the pace of the Sokpop Patreon to one game a month, instead of the current two games per month.

After three years of doing two games a month, and having made 80 games this way, we feel that we're reaching the limits of what we can do in the current format. With our ideas becoming bigger in scope, the Patreon games have been taking up increasingly more of our time, leaving little room to explore other projects on the side.

From the poll results, we saw that a lot of you would like to see a different pace too, so we decided to move forward with the decision!

What does this mean for you?

  • You will get one Sokpop game per month instead of two.
  • The price of the Patreon will stay at $3
  • The new games you get will be $6 on itch.io and Steam
  • Exciting new projects and improvements listed below! 👇

Better Patreon Games

Having more time for each game will allow us to put more thought, polish, content and support into each one. As such, the overall quality of the games should be going up. That's also why the new games will cost $6 on retail stores: we think this will better reflect the games' value going forward.

More behind the scenes content

We're planning to do a livestream following each release, where we play the new game and discuss some of the decisions that went into making it. We also want to bring back the videos where we introduce every game, as well as some other stuff that's still in the works. The point is: we'll have more stuff around the games for you to enjoy!

Big projects

With the extra time we get, we will be able to take on bigger projects like Sok-Stories for mobile, Bernband, Simmiland 2 and others at a faster pace. We're excited to be able to spend more time on these projects, and hope you are too!

We’re looking forward to starting this new chapter of the Patreon and we want to thank everyone for supporting us all these years!

I'm happy about this, and looking forward to any plans for the ability to choose older games that we missed too, if that gets implemented later. In any case, thanks.

Make sure to not over-scope with the Patreon games. Just more polish, don't push it :)

More behind the scene content would be GREAT! Keep on keeping on.
