Hey! It’s me in the past before I subscribed. I felt the universe tell me y’all were trying to figure out what game you were talking about with hands and claymation and all that. It’s Hylics. That game is bonkers!

“SMOKING CRACK AND COCAINE!! TO GET HIIIIGH!!!”

(brandon:) I am incapable of remembering Hylics's name, and I don't know why. it's happened at least twice on the show!

Hey! Me again! Just finished this episode way late 😂 but I wanted to say that I host a 24 hour Christmas movie marathon of all the non traditional holiday films in South Carolina. This years them was all snowmen. We did Jack Frost 1 and 2 back to back in the late night portion and it was a journey 😂 look up McArathon on twitch and google and stuff! We show weird holiday stuff sometimes!

Very much agree with Brandon's assessment of Yakuza 7. I was pretty let down by it and only ended up getting halfway through! The battle system is so janky, starting a battle and having to wait for your party to run 2 blocks to catch up with you (and then get stuck behind a car) feels terrible. I wish they hadn't made it so hard to avoid fights cause they take forever, and the frustration is compounded by how long it takes to get around by foot. They really needed to add a bike or something with a city of that size. I could complain about that game all day but I will stop there lol it just really rubbed me the wrong way in almost almost every aspect

Plus when you're actually in battles and set it to auto (and even if you don't, and are just trying to mash attack because the enemy is weak) your attacks will knock the enemy further and further away, but your party will keep the same starting "hub," which means each time they hit the enemy they have to run further back and forth to actually hit the guy, which makes the already long battles take even longer. Yakuza 7 is definitely the game in the series where I spent the most time checking my phone. (~brandon)

Nathan Grim

Yeah, having the battles happen seamlessly in real time or whatever you would call it was a cool idea in theory but they should have just realized it didn't work and loaded into a battle screen like every other turn based game.

I do think there's plenty of room to improve it and make it work - the tower of enemies that was all specific fights with specific conditions was actually interesting because you had to pay attention. If they'd just ditched all the random battles and made every major fight like that, they would've had something. (while also ironing out all the other obvious stuff like moving the party starting hub closer to the new location of the enemy, etc)

unrelated but do you think the new Civic hatchbacks are any good? Still kinda boring but at least a step back into the right direction? Will Honda make a cool looking affordable car again!?

(this is brandon) so I haven't actually driven one yet but I've seen a few that were modded in ways I liked visually, so that's at least one step! and everyone I've talked to who has one says they like it, but I don't know if they're comparing it to the stuff I like. I'm still waiting for them to bring that EV that looks like an 80s Civic here, which I guess they'll never do.

Jake from State Farm is amorphous like Dracula’s Castle from Castlevania

I checked out Hesher's Pizza in Oakland on Brandon's suggestion from a previous episode and... Pretty Good. Gonna check that out again. I like that The Lodge is strict about vaccination proof too. Made that whole deal a lot more comfortable. Nice recommend!

Glad you enjoyed! The best pizza I had there was the cheese pizza I forced him to make for me, ha ha. but pretty soon they should be carrying the insert credit, which is olives, vegan sausage, garlic, and smoked gouda (on top of the regular stuff). (this is brandon btw)

We got "Coffin's Choice"! Real nice crust they've got there. Whoever picks the food businesses for Lodge is doing an awesome job, Aburaya Fried Chicken had a kitchen in there for a good while and they also ruled.
