Jaffe not having anyone to help defend comics makes me sad.

Alex Jaffe

Comics are good, and I think Frank knows this. It’s just been a bad week to be an X-Men fan.

What about Nintendo's patent on the sanity meter in Eternal Darkness or NAMCO's patent on "auxiliary games", (games during a loading screen)? Granted it's different from copyright, but it feels like it's only a matter of time. Also, Epic should be ashamed but they'll never get their comeuppance. They've grown too big and their ties to Tencent/China have already caused many to be weary of them.

yeah, those patents are real weird! I believe namco's auxiliary games patent has expired. we should all be doing this now! https://www.kotaku.com.au/2015/11/the-patent-on-loading-screen-mini-games-is-about-to-expire/ (~brandon)

I'd started doing phone calls to my folks almost every night at the beginning of covid and it's continued on more or less since then. I had been feeling bad for 'grinding' a bit during the calls lately but it's just the right balance of distraction to keep me paying better attention to these somewhat repetitive phone convos. I'm not playing any grindy games at this time so what it's been is loading into a 32 person community 2Fort server in Team Fortress 2 , playing engineer, building a few things and then running around a loop with my shotgun. TF2 is one of the best games btw! <3

yeah, I think that's the key! I feel like if I'm grinding I'll actually pay more attention to what they're saying because I won't find something more complex to distract myself with (~brandon)

"I dont really have, like, a memory...of anything, I dont retain, uh, things in my brain" lmao same Frank, it's actually very comforting to know I'm not the only one
