we don't know but I (brandon) had a lot of conversations with him in the past about how he'd like to live there one day! so it might have just been the culmination of that!

Oh man, those ladders in Nier you mentioned are absolutely ridiculous! Any ladders you can't slide down suck and it should be standard practice nowadays.
