Hello friends! Brandon here. Do you all use tik tok or no? There isn't a lot of great game content on there and I was thinking we could maybe branch into it. I wouldn't want to do much "face on camera" stuff but I had some ideas for what we could post there, and I'm wondering what y'all think. Here are my thoughts:

1) Our little videos that we post on twitter would be a natural fit. Esper does a great job with these!
2) Little specific anecdotes from me and frank about unusual games we have, things we've found, preservation, etc.
3) I had an idea for a regular feature in which we use our lo-fi beats and show a reveal of a US dreamcast case interior with some commentary about it. It's very specific but I wonder if that'd be cool? You know how US dreamcast games almost always had art behind the disc, and sometimes it related to the disc, sometimes something clever was hidden there, etc? I felt like reveals of those plus a little commentary/rating of the reveal might be fun. But maybe it's too simple! But stuff like this: https://images.bonanzastatic.com/afu/images/e665/10f2/d9ce_9494551298/il_fullxfull.2084048427_3e25.jpg
4) videos of physical products like manuals, cartridge curiosities, etc.

Some of this stuff might be a bit... kiddy in a way? But I don't really mind. Any other stuff y'all can think of? It'd have to be pretty easy to do, and one issue with things like manuals etc is they don't work well with a vertical format... unless it's US saturn games, but those manuals aren't great!

I use Twitter as my front end for all things Instagram and Tik Tok, so anything that is posted there I'd see; other than that, naw, I don't use Tik Tok.

I used it for a while about a year and a half ago. I never really figured out how to curate what I was seeing so I stopped, but from my experience I think these are good ideas. You could share them on twitter easily too.

I am personally happy with letting Twitter filter my TikTok exposure, I feel like I end up watching the best clips via retweets anyway, so I don't think I would register on the app just to watch these, unless you repost them, but I think the idea itself is cool and I'm happy to see you guys trying stuff out!

I don't use it, don't really see myself ever creating another new social media account. Twitter and fb are bad enough for me lol

idk you guys, seems more effort than it would be worth for me. I for sure don't use tiktok either. It's also kind of late to be branching out to instagram, in the lifecycle of the platform I mean. If you're doing it for fun instead of exposure you could definitely try and see what happens though. I like the twitter anyway. If finding new audience is the goal, idk. My friends started listening by out by word of mouth (mine), not via a platform or another. I started listening because of Tim's discord, which if you can find other similar big-ish chill gaming related ones might be a better way to get more people to listen. Plus the collabs with guests you already do of course

I don’t use TikTok, sorry.

Love the idea of the content, not sure if I'd rather see it on Instagram or Tik Tok since you can do the Tik Tok format on Instagram too. I think I'd rather this be an Instagram page.

I would focus effort on Instagram for that format; but you could dual post it onto TikTok with minor tweaks. The TikTok audience is pretty young, which could be good for attracting new audiences to video game history, etc. I think TikTok is a great idea, but don't bend over backwards for it, basically.

I don't use the TikTok but content like this would be too compelling to avoid! I really like these ideas!

I do not use tiktok and from my experience the folks who use tik tok don't seem to care about game stuff too much? Could be worth a shot though!

Yeah, I don't think the aim would be to replace twitter but to have both supplement each other... hopefully!

I (brandon) continue to hope that we can grow the twitter account and use the video stuff we do there on tik tok, and then use tik tok videos on twitter - the hope would be that the effort would be worth it across platforms, but that might be a pipe dream!

Second this. Not a Tiktok user, but if y'all had an Instagram and posted this kind of stuff to Instagram Stories, I would 100% watch. These are awesome ideas.

Oh for sure! I wasn't assuming you would abandon one platform over the other, what I was trying to say is that if you decide repost the content on Twitter it would be neat as well :P

I don't use the app but I enjoy what I see of tiktok on twitter, these sound like really cool ideas!
