By popular demand, I'm posting our personal "best" lists that we submitted to jaffe before the PS2cular (the post for which is here:  https://www.patreon.com/posts/ep-136-ps2cular-38008662).

So let's look at those lists! Here's Frank's, in which he really pared it down!

FRANK'S LIST:

  • Katamari Damacy
  • Ico
  • Raw Danger
  • Metal Gear Solid 3
  • Silent Hill 2
  • Chulip
  • Dog's Life
  • Spy Fiction
  • Simple 2000 series (as a concept)
  • Europe-only shovelware (as a concept)

Had to make sure Dog's Life was on there (it actually is pretty cool and weird, you should check it out).

Now Tim's, which he has not sent to me (brandon sheffield, who is writing this), but which he kept insisting is on Kotaku, and so must be this:  https://kotaku.com/these-were-my-8-favorite-ps2-games-5974626

[UPDATE: I got it from jaffe, so here it is.]

To quote tim: "well, here's my Objectively Correct List, in ranked order"

TIM'S LIST:

  • raw danger
  • steambot chronicles
  • jak 2
  • chulip
  • breath of fire v: dragon quarter
  • neo contra
  • god hand
  • ghost in the shell standalone complex
  • drag-on dragoon z
  • psi ops
  • wild arms v
  • berwick saga
  • armodyne

Now for my (brandon sheffield's) list.

BRANDON'S LIST:

  • Blood Will Tell
  • Bujingai
  • Chulip (except it's too hard)
  • Disaster report
  • Earth defense force 2
  • Extermination
  • Garouden breakblow fist or twist
  • Katamari damacy
  • Michigan
  • Mister mosquito
  • Outrun 2006 coast 2 coast
  • Ribbit king
  • R-type final
  • The rumblefish
  • Shepherd's crossing
  • Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
  • Silent hill 2
  • Silent hill 3

I guess I had the most entries, which means I win.

As a bonus, I added Blood Will Tell as a late entry, and tim replied in the email thread:

"i never played blood will tell . . .

i did play a game called DORORO though

anyway bye i will talk to you all later lmao"

And there you have it!

I am surprised that Dragon Quest 8 never came up.
