I'm beginning work on a long-term test of whether battery break in matters. Some of you will recall that I did a brief test where I demonstrated that break-in had no effect on IR. Since I just received a batch of 5x Infinity Graphene 1500 mAh and 5x Infinity Graphene 1300 mAh Race Spec batteries, I figured this was the perfect opportunity for a more long-term test.

What I'm going to do is, break in half the batteries and not break in the other half. Then I'll fly them as usual for about two months. I'm picking the two month time frame because that was how long it took my brand new HV packs to completely crap out. After two months, I'll re-perform the tests to see how the performance has changed, and whether there is any difference in the broken-in vs. non-broken-in ones. I will also assess the longevity of these batteries.

Thanks to all of you for your support, which helps make long term testing like this possible.

What you see above is the result of the break-in on four of the packs. This is a series of 5x charge/discharge cycles, charging to 4.20 and discharging to 3.50 volts per cell, at a rate of 1 amp. What do you think? Did the break-in affect the battery's results?

If you can't wait for the results, these batteries seem to be available now from Banggood. They were unlisted for a while but they're back now.
