Meet Amelia and her parents, or rather her very generous aunt and uncle.

With King O'Hedge grooming his one and only heir to assume the his title, he found himself at odds with his wife after Mercia fell, and Rudy's family's whearabouts were lost.

When Little Amelia appeared some time later within one of the many overcrowded orphanages, Rudy browbeat her husband into taking the young girl on.

Amelia was always a wayward and dreamy child, having spent the bulk of her childhood with her nose buried in fairytale fiction or her many diaries. Having come into rebellion early, she was quickly assumed to be a troubled girl. Under the O'Hedge name, she was always treated like royalty-- but didn't appreciate it's strictness.

As a tomboy, she preferred tree climbing and archery to dresses and tea, and often found herself enjoying time with Rhode, her cousin. He would go on to teach Amelia how to track prey and shoot arrows-- life skills that she'd learn to rely on as she eventually set off on her own way.
