I always liked Season 2 even though it is a curve ball going from the pit to the docks. I love that each season's montage feels complete and lets some stories have happy endings while others do not. Each season has its own perspective so I don't know why people don't like certain seasons, but yeah S2 and S5 both get a lot of heat for some reason. I think Frank Sobotka is a sad example of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". He had a good heart, but made bad decisions. The same could be said for the whole family. It sucks, but life can often be unfair like that. :(

I like season two much better after a few rewatches. In real time I was not a big fan of it. I think Frank was a good man that made some bad decisions trying to take care of his people.

ST

The cycle never ends.

Season 3 is about to be action packed

Your dead-on right about difference between Avon and Stringer, Stringer wants to change the rules of the game to be more business, but Avon knows the old school rules, and sometimes that matters more on the street.

Very Underrated Season to me, I really enjoyed it too, more then the 1st Season personally, but I am excited to see your reactions to the most exciting Seasons of the Show

I agree I think it will matter at some point and Stringer will have a bit of an eye opening

I've never heard of that saying but it fits so well! :( I'm glad Nicky at least has a chance to move on

Every season of the Wire is amazing. You can only really compare The Wire to the Wire because no other show is nearly as cerebral, so even when people say Season 2 isn't their favorite, it still blows most seasons of every other show out the water.

Really enjoyed your reactions and thoughts to the episodes, Excited for the next season.

As I type this comment, at 3:15am Eastern Time on Tuesday March 26 2024, The Francis Scott Key Bridge—where Frank was gonna meet the Greeks—got hit by a Container Ship and COLLAPSED, like, 30 minutes ago.

I love S2, but like many said, it typically takes a couple rewatches to fully appreciate it. I think that's the main reason why it ranks lower for some people. It's such a sharp turn away from what you might expect coming off S1, but I love how it paints the bigger picture of the drug network, how shipments are coming in from NY, Atlanta, off the boats from Colombia. And now, in light of the recent events, RIP Frank and RIP the bridge. Also, Koutris with the FBI isn't a fake guy, but Fitzhugh thought he was calling him in San Diego when he was in DC all along, that's how he was able to meet up with the Greek so fast that one time they spoke at the museum, and previously on the bench outside when the Greek tipped him about the Colombians' shipment.
