It's interesting you don't believe Eleanor when she says Max wasn't on her list of people to kill. In the actual episode where that happens there isn't any evidence that a killer went for Max at all. Of course, that doesn't mean Eleanor *is* telling the truth. But I think the ambiguity is interesting: the show deliberately doesn't tell us for sure, and we have to decide based on what we've seen if we think Eleanor and Max did that to each other.

I flip flop on what to believe to this day, cuz on the one hand I would like to believe that Eleanor would never do that to Max, but on the other hand, I don’t think I believe that Eleanor would leave a lose end like Max, especially after killing everyone else.
