The end scene was a great way to add some depth into Chris's character without explaining much. Also I googled Joel Osteen memes lol

One thing about the Carv and Namond scene is we don't know how many times a day that happens with people we don't see. There's a similar moment earlier in s2 with Kima and one with McNulty where they casually threaten the lives of the people they interact with. With harsh realities that they don't know the full extent of. Carv thinks it's scary just to be locked up, excited about it, and Namond has a more credible fear of being sexually assaulted or hurt with nowhere to go. As far as McNulty and his ex. People are typically on his side there but imagine how hurtful it'd be asking someone to grow up and step up for years only for them to move on and do it. And still loving them at the same time so you're happy as well. At the risk of making this too too long, I don't think Mike's mom and Bubs are all that different. We've just had more time with him. He's done a lot of shady shit as well. Lest we forget, he has a sister who absolutely does not trust him in her house. And Bubbles also has a kid. S1 stuff so it's easy to forget. She doesn't look too much older than Michael and Bubs is probably twice her age and still hasn't hit bottom yet.

Very good points! I think you have a point with Michael’s mom and bubs. If these characters were real I’m sure it would be much more complicated. So far we’ve seen bubs in a certain light but who’s to say he didn’t commit wrongs too.

It's a testament to the quality of this show that it can make you feel all these raw emotions you're showing us, anger, frustration, worry & fear for one's safety, pushing you so far that you feel the need to cuss about it, it's quite wonderful to behold :) But in the end, it's just a very (sadly) accurate depiction of our reality. Cops abusing their power and authority, politicians engaging in all kinds of very questionable behavior, those in charge of education just looking at numbers and data, not caring about the students as real people.. And another fantastic thing about this show is that it can tell a very big story without ever actually showing or outright mentioning it. But it's very clear throughout the whole season that Mike has been molested when he was young, with his distant behavior toward grown men, and it's also very clear that Chris has also suffered the same thing, years of bottled anger emptied on Mike's stepdad in that alley.
