I don't believe I have ever watched another reactor who viscerally hated Walt as much as Kailyn lol. I think he is evil as well, but Kailyn seems to have an uncontrollable impulse every time he speaks where she either gags, grunts, or curses him. Good to see engaged reactions.

I honestly agree with everything you guys said in the intro 100%. My favorite thing about this show is that it acts as a sort of moral barometer for the viewer. I remember learning about World War 2 in school and wondering to myself how anyone could possibly be as evil as Hitler. Like… he’s the same species as the rest of us, right? Still a human. How could someone have so much hatred inside them? Where does it come from? Does he love his mom? His dog? What’s the limit? There’s no way he just popped out as an evil baby, *something* had to have driven him to that extreme. And what about the officers going along with it in death camps? Were they evil? Or just doing what they needed to do to ensure their own safety? It brings to mind that classic dilemma that’s probably talked about in every Ethics 101 course ever: “Is it wrong to steal bread to feed your family?”. What this story essentially does is it asks that question, and then proceeds to keep pushing it to its absolute limits until it breaks. Well, maybe it’s okay to steal bread to feed your family, but what if you had to hurt someone for it? What if you had to kill for it? How far can you push that question before it’s 100%, beyond-the-shadow-of-a-doubt inexcusable? Here, we have the opportunity to be shown the life of an evil person from his own point-of-view. And brilliantly, while the show foreshadows it throughout if you look back with the benefit of hindsight, you’re oblivious to his true nature until you’re already invested, and in too deep with him. You understand his pride (at least at the beginning), and wanting to finally have some kind of agency in his life. His problems feel relatable and real. Pretty much every decision he’s made was framed in the moment as being done either because he had to for his own safety or for someone he cares about. But at some point it becomes too much, and you’re left to wonder how you ever could have sided with such an horrible person. Take, for example, his outburst by the pool way back in season 2, when he made Walt Jr. get drunk on tequila. His entire demeanor in that scene could’ve been taken straight from season 5. At the time, it seems like maybe a mistake an angry drunk could make, but deep down he’s really a good guy? They make you feel like he’s changed from a stand-up dude into this evil monster, but it was sitting right in front of your face all along that this is who he always was. And, at least for a time, you empathized with him. Didn't mean to leave a book in the comments, got a little carried away oops 😅Awesome to see you guys enjoying it as much as you are!
