Saw a question I wanted to answer!:


I'm not necessarily making 'metal' brushes per se, it's just a texture overlay brush. How to actually do the metallic is by combining the brushes  with my gradient maps, which are available over here; https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1989685

Painting with grayscale then adding my metallic gradient map on top + adding the squiggles as an overlay is how I got the metallic look! You can also take the squiggles themselves and paint inside them/lock the layer and then put the gradient on top of them too, which is what I did in that original image

Hope this helps clear things up! It's actually just a number of steps to achieve a certain look (all using the gradient map metallic set) in combination with brush texture/overlays of squiggles/etc
