Super quick post so it's clear what I'm currently up to.

With the four parts of video in WIP form, my current goal revolves around polishing and rework to try and get this video on the channel.

Have as look at this gif below and note the timestamps to the left side:

This is an example list of the issues I'm encountering.

Each morning I'm rendering the video in very large chunks. Usually more than an hour. And then I'm taking these notes as part of the quality assurance process.

As you can see, it's a case of sifting through hundreds of tiny issues. Days full of tiny tasks. Such is the nature of quality assurance. To be frank, it's a bit tedious. But it's important in order to make sure it's ready.

Broadly speaking there are three common types of problem:

  • Audio balancing. Places where the voice is too quiet or too loud. Where the sound effects drown out the narration.
  • Pacing issues. Where the cuts were too fast or too slow. It's surprisingly easy in Premiere to accidently chop off a chunk of another segment. With so many elements of a near-complete video, one needs to be cautious.
  • Incomplete parts/rework - Responding to some feedback I agree with, there are some parts that need to be reworked. And there are some animations that are entirely incomplete due to not being sure if they would work when first created. These parts are taking longer. Occupying whole days of editing, no doubt. Especially with some complicated animations.

I think I'll be able to estimate a completion timeframe by the end of this week. I'll see what I'm able to complete by Friday and take an educated guess from there.

But I don't think I'll get stuck at this point. It's really just a case of chugging on until a near-final render starts to appear. Cracking each issue as they come.

Hope you all have a lovely week :)

Once again, dog tax:

Okay, first, ignore the complaining idiots - the majority of us are happy to wait because we love seeing you expanding your skills and trying new things. Second, I'm excited to see the finish product when its ready - I've never played The Forest, but your video essays are great at keeping viewers engaged even if they're unfamiliar with the game they're discussing. Third, look at that adorable Lulu belly begging for rubs!

The Ferret

Holy heck Womble, this is a shitton of work. Take as long as you need. Also, aww Lulu is such a cutie, hope you gave that belly so many tummyrubs
