Aaaaand my time's up :)

My three weeks on the side project are now finished. And they were nice and productive. The 01 Intro video seems like it has hit it's mark (thanks for the feedback). And I was able to complete all the voice recording for part 6/10 - PVE threats ready for next time.

It's unpolished, but here's a preview of the middle section if you're interested. It's a look at some of the mechanics that make survival sandboxes appealing. And in this case I'm analysing Rust and explaining how I feel it's indecisive PVE design has led to a game leaning towards a deathmatch. As the developers approach to PVE was far too gentle. Leading to very little "survival" in this survival sandbox.

As this section is about 20 minutes long, I don't feel confident I can complete all the video sections and QA with "just one more week". This is probably a two week job to be fair. So instead I'm going to head back to Random Bullshitteries as promised started next Monday.

Not sure which one one yet. I'll have a look through the footage and see what's available and update you on Monday.

That being said, just so I don't misinterpret the overall mood. Do you have a moment to fill in this poll?  Just in case the overwhelming majority are hyped for me to finish this soapbox chapter, even if it takes more than a week. I edit at your pleasure, oh payers of my rent :)

Thanks

Am I wrong to misread this post as a way to beguile us into giving you approval to continue working on the soapbox? Regardless, I think I speak for others when I say I would like you to continue working on the soapbox since it looks like you really enjoy doing so (and we forced you to go through the Viscera viewing and editing process, so maybe the bullshitteries can have a little break)

I vote Soapbox. I love your bullshittery videos, but I'd hate for you to get stuck being known as just "the bullshittery guy." So branching out is a good idea!

Mighty close in the poll. I'd like a BS, but as others have said if you're enjoying doing soapbox carry it on. It'll be Christmas soon though which will drop a week out Shabby

In a previous poll I voted for the soapbox already and I'm happy to see it happening. I'd probably also like to see you soloing a game again some time before or after the next BS episode. Doesn't even have to be a horror game. But I think it's great to shake things up. Already loving those soapbox videos. Keep it up.

Tis fine. If anything I'd much rather see that in the poll then nobody wanting Soapbox and everybody wanting bullshittery. It tells me that people want both, therefore alternating between the two types of content is the right thing to do. Still, proof will be in the pudding. I'll finish a Soapbox video, THEN people can decide if they want more or not :)

Holy shit 50/50. You should do it the old fashioned way. Coin toss. Be sure to film it.

Also, I know it's unpolished, but the sound seems like it's a tad bit too muffled. That could just be me, I've made the mistake of shooting guns without ear protection one too many times.

There is a clip in one of the DayZ BS that might be relevant to a PVE discussion. It involved someone trying to get into your base but they were over run by Zombies, off the top of my head I can't recall the episode but after seeing the original drafts of soap box that one clip stood out for the lack of differences between the mod and standalone. Well, at least the differences I took from your experiences. I would think most of us understand SB takes far more time then a BS, mainly because it's your thoughts rather then you know what makes your audience happy. For my input on what I rather see, it's SB right now but that's not where your bread and butter is so my thoughts are secondary.

Sounds good, little muffled but its unpolished so its expected. The discussion on rust seems really well done, fits the feeling I get from rust anyway. I think the tension is also lost because dying doesn't result in a real loss. The sleepingbag mechanic encourages baseless assault, using whatever you have in a kamikazi esque manner. There is little encouragement to succeed. Or really do anything.
