Whew. All done. Blimey that was a particularly grueling edit. Apologies for the one week delay. But the bullshittery is finally done, and available to view here as early-access with my sincere thanks.

A quick recap of the timeline:

  • Week 1 - This first week saw the editing of all the scenes in a complete sequence over the first three days. This process wasn't very difficult, as I'm doing a fairly good job of recording and storing the clips from PUBG. Facilitated by a handy "ALIVE" counter in the corner of all footage, allowing me to ear-mark jokes easily in my notes. The text editing also started here. Mostly in the form of static text that would be animated later.
  • Week 2 - Saw the ongoing text editing and animation in full. Progress was relatively slow. But it was at this point that I saw the potential for a green-screen editing. Some basic equipment was ordered online.
  • Week 3 - Was much more efficient in terms of editing. And most of the video was complete here. I was also able to polish/quality-assure much of the video whilst waiting for the arrival of various props and green-screen related equipment. It was at this time that I also sought the assistance of a number of people, such as TwistieZ on reddit for art commissions, SayuChiiii on Twitch for sign-language lessons, Daniel Choppen and Hart Attack on Patreon for their 3D modelling abilities, various ZF members for machinima-style acting within PUBG, and real-life friends Ed and Oz for their ability to wear plastic infront of the green-screen in my flat. All in preparation for week 4, which would be a complicated 45 second "hero"-sequence.
  • Week 4 - The 45 second CSI Miami spoof. It took some experimentation to replicate the specific style of the show's intro. And to get the green screen lighting look right. I had expected it to take five days at the most. But it proved much more difficult and extended into the next week.
  • Week 5 - Extra time to finish off that 45 second sequence, which was often stalled by dependencies I couldn't resolve (waiting for specific props to arrive for example). In the mean time I was able to add some additional scenes to the episode, bringing the run time up by another 40 seconds.

All in all I think things came together quite well. And there's still lots of moments remaining for future Battlegrounds bullshitteries. Though it was absolutely exhausting. Let me know what you think of the inclusion of newer techniques and smaller art icons in service of various jokes.

Again, sorry for making you wait. And thanks as always for your generous support.
