Hello dear Dragons,

I'm coming here to let you guys know a little of what's been going on while I was away from updating these last few weeks.

At the end of last month, Oni press sent me to ALA (American Librarian Association) in San Diego.
It was both an awesome experience and grueling at the same time (I was and still am a little sick).

(˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )

I had never heard about ALA (American Librarian Association) but learned quickly that it was an industry even with all the major publishers you can think of! (I even saw NASA + the textbook companies for books I once used in school, college). There were so many librarians and so many books! Librarians are actually really awesome, sweet people who are very passionate and interested in sharing books and stories. Together with Onipress we gave out 400+ SubZero Volumes in 2 days and got over 400+ Librarians to sample the book. I really hope they love it and help get it into the hands of more Fantasy-Romance-Dragon-Loving fans so we can grow our SZ Family! (◕‿◕)♡

This was a lovely experience, very cool and highly professional. Don't get me wrong I love a good convention, but this definitely has a different kind of energy. I think if you are a book lover and somehow can get a pass into ALA ( ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ don't know how to get one as it's an industry event). You should definitely get one just look at all these books. THEY WERE ALL FREE ... There's even a post office in the convention just for you two send your books to yourself. (This was just the Day 1 Haul spread out in the Hotel Room)

Above there are more pictures of our experience there (and baby Chamber). It really was a wonderful experience but after 2 days I was excited to return home and get some sleep + pick up where I last left off on SZ....

AND THEN BERYL HIT...

Around 5 am Morning I woke up to the sound of the beeping throughout the house (the circuit breakers were going off to deal with the storm outside). Immediately I felt a fever creeping in, so I went back to sleep only to awake a few hours later with NO POWER! (Hooray)

The rest of the day was a lot of wishful thinking that the power would be back so I could sit back down at my cintiq and continue my SZ update...(of course that didn't happen ). We drove around a bit to see the damage throughout the neighborhood and oh man.... there were fallen trees everywhere we looked. Some were slanted, some had been torn out of the ground and fallen on houses/cars. I hope the people who were most affected were able to get some kind of disaster relief.

Around 8pm everything was going dark, so we grabbed a tablet, clothes, some food and the cat and headed over to stay with one of our friends. Overall, we were there for a total of 5 days while the power situation was being figured out. One thing I didn't mention was... 3 rabbits were still home by themselves. (These are our housemate's rabbits who were unable to fly home because of the hurricane in time).

Every morning, we would drive back to feed/water/socialize with them and make sure they were not overheating from the lack of power. These little guys endured the power outage like champs. I don't own rabbits but it made me aware of the volume of cocoa puffs these guys leave around everywhere they go.

So here we are! The power is finally back and I've been catching up on work/updates. Honestly I'm really happy to be back in the flow of things and I'm excited for the update this Sunday! I know a lot of you in Houston also went through the same thing as me so I hope things are better now.

Thank you all so much for you patience and support during this strange time in my life. It really means so much! I will see you all again on Sunday!

Thank You,
~Junepurrr (=^・ω・^=)
