The next phase of the game will begin the morning after Connor made his choices the night before. As I talked about in Game Update #37, while I already have a number of variant scenes planned for all of the storylines, it's entirely possible I haven't thought of something that you would like followed up on.

As an example, your day might have played out like this:

  • You promised Matt you'd hang out but didn't
  • You propositioned Will
  • You hung out with Riley in the afternoon, but did not proposition him
  • You went to the club and hung out with Isaiah
  • You went home from the club to find Marco jacking off
  • You decided to join him, and then fully hook up

There are a bunch of questions that you-as-Connor may ask yourself when you wake up: Are you happy you lost your virginity? Do you feel okay about not cumming? Do you want to do it again with Marco? Do you think you have feelings for Marco, or was it just sex? And what about the discussion you had with Will—does this count as enough exploring of your social circle that he'll hook up with you, too?

Then you might run into Riley and Isaiah in the halls, and have encounters with them discussing what you experienced with them the day before. Do you ask for advice from Riley again? Do you talk to Isaiah about the drama he had, or do you avoid him? And what about Matt—do you tell him about your first time? Or do you think he's still mad at you for blowing him off?

That's a lot to cover! And with all the different ways you could have spent your previous two days, there may be situations that didn't occur to me.

I'd love to hear how your playthrough went, what type of questions you think your Connor would ask himself, and whatever else you might want to see as part of the morning after fallout. If you don't feel comfortable commenting but want to give feedback all the same, feel free to DM me!

I'm really enjoying the thought and level of detail you are putting into the game! It sounds like you already have so many great ideas for where to go from here. I haven't played through every path yet, so it's hard for me to offer detailed feedback on how I think the story should continue. However, I think a big reason why I haven't gotten through everything yet is the sheer complexity of the story line. You've got a large (and growing) cast demanding equal attention along with a lot of choices about how to spend your time. In your post you list six possible points where the story could diverge, which assuming only a Yes/No choice would be 2^6=64 different outcomes at the end of the current chapter (and even more once you account for all the different characters you can spend time with). For now, most of those choices haven't had a significant impact, but it sounds like you are planning for them to in future updates, which will likely mean a lot of writing for a lot of different variations of the same scene (or multiple alternative scenes). Even with good flow charts, I imagine at some point it will get a little frustrating to try to tie up all the loose ends. Personally, I really think the key focus for the next update should be on if you lost your virginity was it what you expected and did it actually help you be more authentic in your writing (if not, what now), and if you didn't choose to do so, do you regret missing out (and what now). Plus, you'll end up in a similar spot regardless of which exact path you followed to get there,

I feel like all my playthroughs have been pretty straightforward - I tend to pick one guy and stick with him as much as I can, then when I get to the end I restart and pick a different guy for the new run. So my questions are probably already on your list, but anyway: How does Connor feel about hooking up for the first time? (Or not quite hooking up, for those guys where it isn’t possible) Should he talk to Matt about it? Should he talk to the guy he hooked up with about how he feels, or should he try to play it cool? Should he check back in with whoever he got advice from the previous afternoon?

Yeah, the iterations can definitely spiral out of control if I'm not careful. I've got plans for how to write each character each day that I'll talk about in a game update at the start of next month, and I *think* it'll help. The morning will definitely be spent thinking about his virginity, the loss or not thereof, and then immediate reactions from various guys before following a set path through the rest of the update.

For me when writing, the "follow one guy" playthroughs are definitely the easiest to manage. Those are questions he'll be asking, though I don't think I really set concrete plans for talking to the afternoon guy if he didn't also spend the evening with them. I'll need to do that!
