Game Update #27 (Patreon)

Happy March, everyone! It's time for the latest status update.

This is gonna be a relatively brief one since February was of course a short month and since I don't have much to add to what was already a super long Game Update #26.

The biggest news of the past few weeks was releasing the dev build for Alex & Griffin's club storyline content, which seems to have been well-received. It's a bit of a relief to have received some nice comments about Griffin in particular considering he's a new main character no one knew what to expect from. 

The final Grind'm poll also ended, and we have our winner! I'll reveal which of our side characters will get the first unlockable in-game hookup scenario at the bottom of the post.

Where I'm at

I'm still basically where I was around the last update—working towards completing the writing, art, & coding for the Asher & Isaiah club storylines. It's going pretty well and pretty steady. I've already shared some new stuff in Sneak Peek #19 highlighting Isaiah, and I'll soon share a sneak peek for Asher's content as well. I'm especially happy with how the CGs on the dancefloor are coming out, even though they're complicated to make. I really love doing the lighting in particular.

I'm still got quite a few CGs to make for this next dev build, but in the meantime I have dozens and dozens of sprites rendering in the background. If you played the last dev build, imagine the characters actually emoting with actual expressions 😂 

This includes new sprites for Wes, one of the new Dorm Wilde guys and who I redesigned after not being happy with the original model. The old model was a bit cartoon-y and unfocused. For the new one, I narrowed in on "cotton candy rockabilly" for his look.

Where I'm going

I really want—more like need—the full Club Update out this month. I feel like it's taken way, way too long considering the Frat Party Update came out in November.

So the next few weeks will be working to get the next dev build done, and then after that doing non-stop CGs to create the hookup scenes, including the two that were frustratingly "to be continued" in the most recent dev build.

Truly the biggest bottleneck for these updates is the writing process. I mapped out how I'm breaking down the content for the next chunk of the game (Week One) in Game Update #23, and I think the way I have the writing portioned out is smarter than how I've done up to this point. But I've got to finish this next update to get there!

So tl;dr: I'm looking to have the next dev build within the next few weeks and the full release by the end of the month. I still have a lot of work to do, so wish me luck!

And the winner is...

The final Grind'm poll has ended and the winner was Jordi! Look how excited he is.

This one was CLOSE. Going into the final day of voting, Jordi and Parker were tied. After I shared the Bonus Gallery featuring Jordi and Parker in a threesome with NC17, the votes shifted to give Jordi a photo finish only hours before the poll ended.

If you're not someone who played the dev build, Jordi was just described in a comment as "a lovable sweet himbo," and that basically sums him up. I think he's a great choice for the first Grind'm hookup and am looking forward to creating that after the Club Update releases!
