Sneak Peek #33: Riley, Refreshed (Patreon)

I feel like Riley's many fans have been starving, so I think you all deserve a snack by way of a sneak peek at how he'll appear in the Morning After Update.

While finalizing all the new sprites, I've been giving each character model one final critical look. With Riley, I decided he deserved a Leo-like refresh—an updated model and textures that look like a higher definition version of Riley rather than something totally different.

Here are a few of his new towel sprites:

 Much like Leo, I can look at these and think, "Isn't that how Riley always looked?" But here's the new version next to two earlier ones:

Riley has always had a problem where his skin materials did not react well to light. He tended to look washed out, especially if he was in a scene with another character. You can see this in the left sprite.

The middle version was my first attempt at Riley's new towel sprites, and as you can see, I cranked the lighting way down to avoid the washout issue. As a result, he looked like he was standing in shadow in comparison to the other characters.

His body was also awkwardly shaped because way back when I made him I used a slender, toned base model, then made it stockier with morphs. In fact, it was the same base model I used for New Connor, and while that body works great for Connor, Riley is meant to have totally different proportions.

For the updated body, I found a new base model that had the proportions he was always meant to have, meaning the only tweaks I needed to make were to his lower half—he wouldn't be Riley without a plump ass, of course!

With these new textures, he has the same skin tone but reacts to light more naturally, meaning that I can put him under the same lighting as everyone else. I also adjusted his pose since when stripped down, his old pose aimed his dick directly towards the camera. The new pose is the same as the old, just flipped horizontally and with his head at a more flattering angle.

Speaking of stripped down sprites, here's one of Riley's, which is also the debut of his new "aroused" expression that he needed to have for certain fun situations:

Of course, there's one more side of Riley that I think many of us are fond of. I'll leave you with a new CG from a fantasy sequence to show it off. This CG may not make it into this update, so for now, this is a Patreon exclusive!
