Weapon of Choice (Patreon)

The next 2 and half hours was a whirlwind for Applejack in my Equestria dreamscape. Link When it was done AJ had about 2 dozen outfits stored in her dream diamond that she could call upon when she wanted in the future. Fortunately as time went on she as able to perform the visualization process faster and faster.

AJ couldn't remember half the names of the outfits that had been loaded in her recently acquired dream diamond. However one thing AJ was really starting to wonder about how she was suppose to pay for all these fancy threads.

"Abigail. Borodino. I wanna thank y'all fer all yer time and these here clothes would make my friend Rarity proud, but I don't have two bits in this here purse. So don't know how I could pay fer them?"

Borodino looked over at Abigail. "Abby. Just put this on my tab....actually does King Trafalgar still have an open account with you?"

The middle aged mouse grinned. "Why, I think he does. Let me check! Reaching beneath the front counter Abigail produced a large, tome-like book; adjusting her wire frame glasses she began thumbing through it. Eventually she found what she was looking for. "Yes he does! And he's all paid up!"

Borodino raised eyebrow. "Can it cover everything on the dream diamond, plus the diamond itself?" The dark grey mouse asked.

The shop owner grinned. "Oh easily! Trust me. His account is no way close to being maxed out!"

"Excellent! Send the bill to him! I'll vouch that he'll pay for it." Borodino grinned while cracking her knuckles. "Now Applejack! We've got just few more items to consider before we leave today, but they are some of the most important items in your arsenal! In fact in many cases they are my weapon of choice."

"Um, okay." Replied AJ as she stared at various pieces of cutlery strapped to the mouse. "So what the hay are they? Are ya talking about yer knives?"

Abigail golden brown face lit up. "Oh  no dear. We're talking about the swimsuit/swimsuits that you still need to pick out dear! They are absolutely essential in certain scenarios and can lead to success in many engagements!"

AJ's face scrunched up. "Are ya talking about relationships or wars?" She asked.

"Yes." Said the shop owner.

Borodino giggled. "Remember Applejack. All is fair in love and war."

"Okay if ya say so." AJ said while shrugging her shoulders. "Although it seems ta me that picking out one of them out shouldn't be much of a chore." She looked over at the black bikini on Borodino. "After all there's not much ta them."

Abigail shook her head emphatically. "Oh no no Applejack! The very opposite! The less there is the more important each individual component becomes. So they must be selected with great attention to them. A poorly chosen swimsuit can lead to disaster for you!"

40 minutes later AJ had 4 more of these swimsuits, 2 bikinis and 2 one piece swimsuits picked out. 3 of them were loaded now in AJ's dream diamond. However both Abigail and Borodino were very happy with the crimson red bikini that AJ was now wearing. Like Borodino AJ was also wearing an unbuttoned, short sleeve, ivory satin shirt. Also Borodino had insisted AJ acquire at least one pair of sunglasses that were now perched on her head.

Things were winding down and Abigail had brought out a pitcher of iced tea and the 3 were partaking of glasses. Borodino and Abigail were getting caught with what had happened to each other. For her part AJ was thumbing through various albums with a bewildering collection of outfits.  AJ had learned that the thumb was this finger thing sticking out at a right angle from her other fingers. She'd found an album that appeared to be full of various outfits that claimed to be work clothes. Although some outfits appeared to be a bit snug for doing many chores. In particular she found an outfit of a female mouse wearing what looked like the mare's own Stetson. AJ bit her lower lip and then addressed the 2 ladies.

"Um, Borodino, Abigail. I wanna thank ya both fer all yer help with picking out all of these here threads, but could I trouble ya ta let me add a few more things ta my dream diamond?"

Borodino and Abigail sauntered over to see what AJ was looking at. The grey mouse stared at the images in the album that AJ was holding and smile spread across her face. "Applejack. I didn't think you'd be interested in flannel and denim, but yes we can add those."

"Ah that's might kind of ya ma'am! Is it possible ta git that hat as well?" Abigail waved a casual dismissive hand at AJ. "It's no problem dear. But let me make a suggestion."

The golden mouse nodded her head. "Shur. Whatcha thinking?"

Abigail grinned. "Get both the pants and the cutoffs dear. Trust me."

"Um okay, if ya say so."

King Trafalgar Maximilian Augustus Leopold the III finished his final glass of sangria. He sighed and looked over at the empty pitcher that was currently keeping his Majesty company. Rita, the owner of the Hibiscus Path, had graciously spiked the sangria with a healthy quantity of extra brandy. The king looked down at his empty glass and was considering ordering another pitcher when a shadow fell across him. Looking up his sleepy bored expression suddenly left his face.

Standing before him was AJ and Borodino. The grey mouse was still dressed as she had been when she'd left the cafe, but AJ was wearing the red bikini she'd picked out at the boutique. She nervously rocked back and forth on her feet as she looked at the king. After a moment AJ spoke.

"Um hi Trafalgar! Uh, sorry ya were left alone fer so long, but um I've got a whole heap of new clothes I can wear fer whenever we git tagether." She glanced down at the bikini she was wearing. "Since they seem ta be popular here I got one of them swimsuits. Uh, I hope ya like it."

The king slowly nodded his head. "Yes I do. You look marvelous. Breathtaking if I maybe so bold dear."

Applejack's ear turned bright pink but she seemed to perk up at the king's comments. "Ah shucks! Thanks sugar cube!" She clasped her hands together smiled. "I've never done stuff like this so I wasn't shur if I was gitting the right stuff."

The king nodded his head again. "Applejack dear. I would say you've exceeded all expectations. Well played dear. Well played."

AJ chuckled and bounced a little bit. The king's eyes followed this. Borodino came around and leaned over. "Mmm. I'm glad you're thoroughly satisfied with the fruits of this endeavor. Ssoooo I will just leave you this invoice to settle up." As she said this she placed the bill from the boutique in his Majesty's hand.

The king looked down at the bill and his eyes went wide for a moment; then he looked back up at AJ. Applejack cocked her head to one side and made a slightly pouty face. "Um, I hope yer not upset with all the stuff I bought, but Abagail said a good wardrobe was an investment in oneself's"

"No no. It's not problem. Perish the thought." Said the king.

Applejack smiled. "Oh good!"
