That's quite a stretch for her hind legs. Especially if she's supporting much of her weight doing that. I suspect that she's using some flying magic through her spread wings to make it easier, which makes me wonder if a unicorn might learn to do something similar. But then I'm also starting to wonder if pegs or unis can learn some sort of "hover dancing" where they do gravity-defying movements barely off the ground.

You are correct Dash is using a bit of her flight magic to do this maneuver, although it can be done through sheer flexibility, strength and practice. However Dash will discover that pegasus and bat ponies can perform certain maneuvers that unicorns and earth ponies find almost impossible. Due to the fact that fliers can generate both lift and thrust with their wings. Also their wings can act airbrakes to slow down certain maneuvers. Concerning unicorn hover dancing yes that is something that some ponies will start exploring. Although initially Petina's levitation talent is not sufficient to let her do it. Another facet will the introduction of using the cloud walking spell to assist in certain types of performances.
