One of my outstanding commissions is with Screwloose who commissioned me to a do piece of pony art involving the star of the Pixar film Wall-E.


The piece will have Wall-E playing with some blindbag style pony toys, in particular a Rarity and Spike figure. "Oooo! Now kissssssss!" You get the picture.


Now I really liked the movie and have always thought that concept design that went into this character was impressive. Then I while doing these studies today I realized that some really amazing concept design went into this little fellow! Yes you do have to accept a certain amount of Type 3 tech design with him which means you don't know what part of hammer space some of his internal components are residing in but it is still a clever design.


I told this was about two hours of study and sketching, but now I have much better idea of how to render the character so I think it was worth it!
