Meet Chrys! (Patreon)

Chrysanthemum Oakfeld is a firbolg who was raised by a merchant father and a fisherwoman mother in a seaside city. From a young age, he recognized the effort that all of the common folk put into their everyday lives and the less-than-ideal compensation they received for their work by nobles and wealthy travelers.

Not content to sit around, "Chrys" began to work as a hybrid musical entertainer and bodyguard. But this was not his main plan; beneath the friendly work and protecting others, the firbolg learned the value of information - particularly that which passed through the ears and lips of the most unnoticed: common servants of those in power.

Using what he learned from them and fulfilling favours and jobs that aided commoners' circumstances, Oakfeld began to form a network that would branch out from his simple city into further reaches of the world. But he would also learn that there's a price to be paid for making allies...

One day, the roguish firbolg aided in the escape of an infamous pirate captain who was rumoured to have ties to a royal family in a rival nation. He was captured by the officers of a rival nation, and the consequences for aiding such a controversial individual left him with the loss of his left eye.

Even so, Chrys was motivated more than ever to root out corruption in those with power, and decided to travel abroad in order to reach more people and gather more information and allies.
