so, the comic has been available to early access supporters, and on my gumroad for 2 days, and it has been by far my most successfull project yet.

to tell you all the truth this was a small experiment. a market research project, i suppose? thats just me speaking fancy for "i wanted to see if people would buy it".

and to my surprise, yes! a lot of people did! while i wont disclose the exact amount i´ve earned from this comic, lets just say, daddy-aaro is getting a new banana-shaped yacht.

which brings up an important thing ive been mentioning over on the discord for a while now. i think its finally time to remove commission work from my main focus. in january i finish the haremblem series with it´s final third chapter, and i will be completely free to do whatever i want after that.

this latest comic has shown me that now is the time to start focusing on original content much much more. ive noticed over time that, although a fair amount of my followers enjoy the fanart i usually work on, i get a much better response for original content by a majority of my audience. i suppose it´s the natural flow of events:

-new artist pops up

-new artist dabbles in fanart and gains a core audience

-new artist dabbles in original content while still doing fanart

-new artist focuses on original content

yes, i still consider myself a fairly new artist

but im just rambling at this point.

speaking of, the point of this entire rant is just to say that i think i will be taking a very long break from commissions and from working with other people for money. and ive said so before, but as far as fanart goes, for the most part, i usually dont know who im drawing or care to find out. I know that sounds harsh, and might offend some people i´ve worked with, but i think being honest is better. im sorry folks i´ve worked with, but, avatar, dragonball, naruto (except kushina, dont shit talk my kushina-mama), digimon, persona, rwby etc etc etc. are not my cup of tea. mostly because these arent things that have stuck out to me, or are nostalgic, or that have had a lasting impact on me. so, i dont want to focus on them anymore.

now here comes my hypocrisy, which is a staple for the modern hentai artist lol.

i like kushina. i like the mom from oreimo, i llllooooooooooooveee tifa and cloud, this morning i woke up and thought to myself "what if kurenai had a son instead of a daughter, schwwwwiiiiiing!!!"

see? my brain works weird. sometimes i am in the mood to work on these series i am absolutely tired of drawing. i dunno. im petty. i suppose i dont want to draw the things i always see on my timeline. or rather, i let my mood dictate what i will draw, if that makes sense? like i dont wanna draw bleach fanart, but ichigo x orihime, or ichigo x rukia ideas pop up in my head randomly and i go like "yeah. i wanna draw that." i dunno. its strange.

anyway, a chimpan-summary: uuukii ukkiii! aaro no like commissions. ukiii!! aaro still like fanart sometime. oooo OOOO!!! aaro want more original content. aaro focus on making content by himself!!!! UKII!!! aaro want banana!

also, by focusing on my original content, i work faster, meaning i open up some more free time in the month, and that free time will be crucial to finally starting on getting better in animation

and being better at animation = animated rewards yaaaay

although i still dont know which i want to learn first, traditional animation or something more like a motion comic with tweening animation.

anyway. this rant is over. just wanted to vomit out all these thoughts swirling around in my head. December is here and i have a lot to do in 18 days before i leave for my trip, so wish me luck.

also, resident evil 2 remake is a mastah piece and i love it.

thank you for reading if you did. cheers!

Honestly, I think this is a great direction to go. Your OC's and fanart are both amazing, and more of either sounds great!

Props Biguard

You did a whole Dragon Ball comic, then RE-DREW it, and yet you’re not a fan??
