The Corner Episode 4: "Dope Fiend's Blues"

In that silent scene Gary is looking at the barrel full of crabs and references the famous metaphor about none making it out, because they allegedly keep pulling each other back. We can see that behaviour later with Fran's friend (Marla Daniels) on the stoop, but it also fits the quote of the episode about making themselves less human and therefore less compassionate. Also, reaction to the music did not dissapoint!

I'm just catching up. Y'all so consistent with content that I fell behind, so definitely appreciative of that. It's crazy as a Wire superfan and a Baltimorean, but this my first time actually sitting down and watching this, so it's really cool to do so with your added commentary, lol. I feel what Formal was saying about this hitting harder than the Wire in some ways. I like the Wire, a lot more, it's more entertaining, has more interesting characters and memorable. The Corner just feels REAL, though. There's not a single character in this that I couldn't meet if I strolled around the westside for an hour today. I'm not gonna run into Avon, Omar, String, even the cops on the Wire are cooler than normal cops. Corner just has regular niggas you see everyday and shows what the streets do to them.
