Chuck Grant did really survive the headshot as depicted. The quick thinking of Speirs to find a surgeon saved his life. Grant was left with speech problems and left arm was partially paralyzed as a result of the shooting. He attended quite a few Easy Company reunions later in life. He died in 1984. The private that shot Grant had also killed two German officers and a British major. His name was Floyd Craver. He was tried and sentenced in 1945 to life in prison. You definitely should watch the "We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company". It's a follow-up companion piece to the show, basically an Epsiode 11. You get more from the Easy vets that were interviewed and they show pictures of their younger selves during the documentary. Seriously, watch it. It was a pleasure taking this ride with you. Can't wait for "The Pacific".

Ill second the sentiment concerning "We Stand Alone Together". I think the both of you would love it.

5:20 - i'm still halfway through The Pacific, but while it isn't as good as BoB, i've honestly been enjoying it regardless so far so i'm curious to see what you'll guys think! it kinda has a different vibe, but it's just as heartbreaking. i can understand the criticisms people have, but i really don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be (i guess it's cause BoB simply was the standard). that's just me though lol
