That final reunion broke me. Ellie felt like she losing herself after killing David and the trauma she went through. Joel didn’t save her physically, but he was there to save her emotionally and brought her back to herself. She needed her daddy, and he was there to hold her, tell her she was safe, and bundle her up in his coat to keep her warm. Ellie’s Joel’s baby girl now, and he’ll do everything to protect her.
