In the opening episode of this season with the Russians the date said “June 28, 1984” (which was before season 2 October 27, 1984) & the military man told the scientist he has 1 year to get the machine working. Fast forward to a year later in Hawkins… I’m obsessed with this show I’ve seen it so many times but I enjoy watching your reaction to the series & seeing how brilliantly amazing it is too. The duffer brothers are geniuses!

so the first time billy goes to the upside down at the phone booth. i noticed watching this time, an audio thing that comes back hard next season, im wondering if it was always there? like it seems very specific to season 4, but im pretty sure that they didnt have season 4 planned when they did 3. im wondering if they just creatively expanded on the sounds that were used this season, or could they have added it in? i dont know if they can even do that, but they removed the coffee cup from game of thrones.

there are articles about season 1 being a one off. they were going to do it like american horror story or true detective. an anthology, but like the show "Heros" people liked what they saw so much that they changed course. so I really dont think there are hints to future seasons in the first one, but I could believe that they had a plan by season 3. they might just be really good at retroactive plot stuff.
