A timeless classic that will never get old. I watch this every year around Christmas time ever since I was a little kid. The line “I want to live again” gets me every time. I’m sure many of us have felt like George at some point. Sometimes you just need a new perspective to appreciate the good things in your life.

For me it's Bert! Ernie! Suddenly I'm on Sesame street. " Sunny Day, sweeping the clouds"....can't remember the rest. OK I'm back in movie

Omg this is my favorite movie of all time! I can’t believe you guys are watching! Well my evening is set! Thanks guys!

I watch this every year. Even in my most depressing times I realize so many peoples lives were touched for the better with my life and that makes hard times worth it.

I’ve been watching this every Christmas season with my mom since I could remember. One of our faves 😊

Jeremy Vickers

It is the perfect movie. It wasn’t even a hit. It bombed in fact and it was released in the summer I think and not meant to be a Christmas film. Which is mental! Afterwards it was played at Christmas and became a staple! How everyone knew everyone by name … Even the town Bedford falls felt like a character and not a place. So happy you guys loved as much as I do! “ Zuzu’s petals! What do you know about that!?!? “

This was James Stewart’s (who plays George Bailey) first movie after serving in WW2 and he claimed filming this was instrumental in overcoming his PTSD.

I was hoping Tom would come through with this recommendation for the holiday. It really is a beautiful film that explores the importance of family, community, selflessness, faith (I'm not a religious person, but I can respect someone with a genuine faith), and it explores the dark side of the American dream and human nature. In a time when many of us have been alienated and pitted against each other despite many of us facing the same hardships on a daily basis, this 77-year-old film remains timeless because, while the Mr. Potters of the world have continued to grow more powerful, the sense of community that saved George and his family from Potter has been eroded. People continue to believe that the politicians, regardless of party, that have been bought and sold by the Potters will save them, when the simple truth is it's your neighbor, whom many of us have been instructed to hate for their various beliefs regardless of their character, that is our greatest ally. Now that you guys have watched three Capra films (this one, It Happened One Night, and Arsenic and Old Lace), I hope at some point you will see my personal favorite of his, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. That one also stars Jimmy Stewart.
