The one thing that bugs me aesthetically is this is the nicest dystopia I have ever seen in a movie. Nothing like the one depicted in the book. Also him taking dozens of bullets is stupid no matter how symbolic it is. That’s why it’s called symbolism it’s metaphorical. In the book he gets shot once.

I think it's the illusion of it not being a dystopia, which is to say that the oppressive government's attempts were successful. "If it doesn't look bad, it can't be that bad" kind of thing, ya know? The dozens of bullets thing, idk, maybe unreliable narrators? haha

I don’t have enough confidence that the filmmakers were thinking that deep since most of the subtlety of the book is not in this film and instead it’s just what if a leader became hitler which they probably were alluding to George Bush which is why Alan Moore hated it cause his book was a critique on Margaret thatcher so in his mind he said why not just make a new idea instead of repurposing his. I like the movie as a piece of entertainment but the film is as deep as a puddle. For one the book does not idolize V whatsoever in fact they make a point that what he did was the wrong way of going about things. Violence is not the answer. Also he doesn’t know Kung Fu in the book which is a bummer lol.
