Robby the Robot is amazing. I never actually watched Forbidden Planet until a few years ago but Robby inspired the visual designs of the Robco Protectron featured in the Fallout series and has shown up in differant media as well. Fallout is getting a TV show directed by Jonathan Nolan, brother of Christopher Nolan. Jonathan directed Westworld and was involved as a writer in most of his brothers projects such as The Dark Knight. We've yet to get any trailer, at least shown to the public but I think it will be a show you guys would love.

Forbidden Planet (1956) is my favorite 1950's SF movie. It came out the year I was born. I grew up watching and loving this and many other older movies on TV. I really think it helps to know when a movie was made for context. Forbidden Planet was a big inspiration for the creation of Star Trek: The Original Series (1966).
