You're 100% correct the members you see at the end with Sly Stallone are pretty much the original 1969 Guardians of the Galaxy with Stallone himself playing the character known as Starhawk. The original guardians existed in an alternated universe known as Earth-691 set in the far-off future of the 31st Century separate from the Earth-616 (Mainline Marvel Universe) Guardians. Original Team: https://youtu.be/ysl-3-QyIs0 Earth-616 incarnation of the guardians introduced in 2008 discover a time-displaced Vance Astro in a block of ice floating in space. It is his introduction as "Major Victory of the Guardians of the Galaxy" that inspires the team to take up the name. So that's the only connection between the two teams in the comics. But with this MCU rendition they simply brought them into the modern day and the same universe as the Guardians of the Galaxy we know and love making them come before our team as like a older group of hero's.

The black guy at the end is Ving Rhames. You were thinking of Tommy Lister Jr. Btw. The robot head at the end was voiced by Miley Cyrus and the Alien that gave the thumbs up is a user of the Magic of Mystical arts in Doctor Strange.
