The prisoners at the concentration camp scenes are all from hospitals around the area most of them from cancer units and some of them from other terminal illness units because they wanted it to be as accurate as possible and only people who are deathly ill can physically be that thin. They wanted to use people that were already that sickly as opposed to having to make actors look that sickly and not get it accurate or put those actors in danger by essentially starving them. So the people that you see in the concentration camps all have Cancers and other illnesses and they volunteered to make the show because they wanted to be a part of this they thought it was important to do.

This whole series is amazing, but this episode is very powerful and emotional. I highly recommend the movie "Schindler's List" if you haven't already seen it, same subject matter and a really great true story.

Yeah, this one is a tough watch. Story goes that the actors didn't know anything about the set so their reaction when they went in there was honest. Also, some of the "prisoners" are cancer patients, some terminal, that volunteered because they wanted to show the world how people there looked.

This one is a tough one as the others say and as you reacted. I can also recommend "The Pacific" it's basically the same as BoB but in the pacific. Next year there should be the BoB of the Air Force is coming to Apple TV called, Masters of the Air.

At 27:19, the guy with the gun in the hand, is actually Tom hanks

It is known that the actors did 't want to see the concentration camp location before shooting the scene. They wanted to give their true reaction when first seeing it. Furthermore many of the actors in the concentration camp are cancer patients (that's why they look so skinny), who were asked if they want to portray people in the concentration camp. Some maybe didn't even were among us anymore when the film was released.

Wow.. Yeah, had a feeling this episode was gonna cut a little deeper after hearing what Shoshana had to say after Inglorious Basterds.. Thanks for sharing you guys.. Your Great Grandmother sounds like a lovely person who was loved very much❤

Always brutal, thanks for the reaction, Vince and Shoshana! My parents had my brother and I watch this show when it first came out, I was 11. I can't say I remember what it was like to see this episode for the first time, but it's always terrible to see. General Eisenhower had the soldiers film the camps because he know someday someone would say it didn't happen
