This is the only Pirates movie I ever rewatch. So good. Will have to check this out later tonight.

They wore wigs to show a level of position. The bigger the wig the higher your position was, which is why the governor has such a huge wig.

To futher branch of what Matthew said. Wigs became a high status symbol that first was used in France among aristocracy. It soon spread to almost all of Europe and was seen as a kind of fashion for people with power

Potc are amazing fun films I saw them in theaters as a kid growing up other amazing fun pirate movies are cutthroat island and treasure planet, but the series black sails is my favorite show it takes place 40 years before treasure island which is the same story as treasure planet just not cartoony. Should check them out
