Hi everyone,

Here's some more examples of lip drawings I made this week as warmups.

I want to do more of my own studying, so I'll be using the Tuesday slot to post drawing warmups and sketches in place of art tips on occasion. That'll give me some accountability to make sure I study every week because I'm hoping to improve my artworks as much as I can from now on. There haven't been any art tips lately, so I think some quick sketches and warmups from my own studying could take their place nicely, and some of you might learn something from these too.

That being said, I'm still open to art tip requests if anyone has any.

Thanks again!

Goddamn the depth to those lips are incredible

Thanks. Just doing some studying and applying what I'm learning.

as always. i love this stuff. Can you help me understand how i should be 'reading' the highlights on the lower lips? the two lip examples that have red text next to them have lower lip highlighting that seems less contoured to the lower lip than i would expect and i am wondering if it is defining a lip shape/volume that i am not aware of.

which one is your favorite of the bunch and why?

CriKai

I like the middle right one most because you can just barely see the teeth, it's like a favorite mouth expression of mine.

CriKai

I was just trying to exaggerate the volume. The middle left one should have a thinner lower lip because the lower lip would be stretched out when smiling.

I see that now. It's amazing that with CSP and similar we can modify so many of the lines and shapes as we go.
