An important feature that I always thought was missing from VAM was a portal/doorway functionality. I think VAM was intended more like a 3d object viewer similar to Holodexxx. You'd stay in place or just slightly float around the statue. But many of us want more, people even tried to build entire games in VAM. To help with that, I tried to add this new feature to VAM that attempts to make navigating large scenes a bit easier.

HOW IT WORKS

You can add the plugin to an Empty Atom. It has two options:

• Destination - this is a destination atom where you'll be moved in, it can be an Empty Atom too.
• Distance  -  this is the distance (in meters) from the atom at which the player gets teleported to the destination

When you get within the given distance, you get teleported to the destination atom. The atoms should be placed on the floor. The forward direction of the atom (blue arrow) is where you'll be facing when teleported (Y rotation). The other rotations (X and Z) are better left to 0.

This might be the best way to date to handle multiple levels/floors in VAM. Initially I was planning this as a feature of Alive Home, where the elevator would have been a portal to going down to street level. It can also be used by people that love room scale vr (no moving around with thumbstick, moving around only IRL) to build very large environments that work at room scale by aligning these portals carefully.
