There have been no more updates/feedback regarding the privacy issue I brought up a few weeks ago. Probably the focus is on vam2 and vam1 won't get an update unless something big will actually happen and be critical. I don't want to be the cause of something big happening lol so I'll just leave it alone rather than try to release something that would scan vars. I thought about that but I think it would only promote the exploit and cause more harm.

Personally i'm not very concerned about it because I install very few and select vars these days. But if you add many vars from more barbarian sources rather than the hub, my recommendation is to firewall VaM and not let it to connect to the internet at all. The exploit is like I said very simple with no exaggeration. You could download a scene, see the red popup asking for permission for something popular like glance or logicbricks that would be spiced with the exploit, you'd hit yes immediately and from there on out all your vam data could be sent over the internet, and data could be sent back and saved in some of your vam folders without you knowing and even with web browser turned off. But since it's on you to click on that red popup that warns you about plugins it becomes your responsability.

I also don't want to complain about it too much or create drama, I'd rather have vam open and allow crazy modding with the risks that comes with that rather than a super secure game where you can't do nothing.
