The Shirley memory wipe is indeed extremely sad. The introduction of the second Geass with Mao is also interesting

wildhunt1973

I have a feeling (unconfirmed) that Mao listens to C2's voice because A) he's obsessed with her but b) because he reads people's minds. If you're talking to him but thinking something else in the back of your mind, he knows you're lying. But just reading your mind, he will always know the truth apart from your lies--which he doesn't really care about. That's just my interpretation on things. Take it for what you will.

Zigawits

Its a really good episode. Also reminder that C.C. is pronounced Cee two, not Cee Cee

Mao joins the party, his role is important to explain things about the geass in futures episodes, There's something that you haven't figured out yet why Lelouch haven't use the geass on Suzaku to stop messing with his plans. But I'll let you figure out later, or you will figure it out in episode 17th.

Title: True heartbreak Thumbnail: Panties

Lelouch would never invite Shirley to join his movement simply because 1) It's too dangerous for a normal civilian like her, same reason why Lelouch is keeping his little sister out of this 2) as a normal Britanian high school student, unlike Kallen, she probably doesn't want to be involved in the rebellion herself. And you got it correct, Shirley was broken by Mao mentally, so Lelouch just did what he had to do to keep her safe and ease her pain

Stefan

Yeah, really heartbreaking, too much that I need something to wipe my nose with:D

Stefan

"Pantsu misete moratte":)) This anime is for adults from many perspectives and don't worry about predictions in this anime, probably you'll get wrong all, otherwise it wouldn't be one the greatest:) I think now had started the most annoying&out of place arc from this anime:)

Miklar Sihn

Spoiler: I think there is an even better explanation. But it is upcoming. It is about how he felt when he was around her and when he wasnt. It is basically a way to get around his panic at being around people.

saiph

Lelouch actually doesn't know that Suzaku is the pilot of the Lancelot. That's why he doesn't use the Geass on him- he doesn't know he needs to.

Vinnick

Just to clarify a point from the start of the video, where you asked why he doesn't just use Geass on Suzaku for always showing up in Lancelot and messing up his plans? Think you made a mistaken assumption there. Lelouch doesn't know that Suzaku is the pilot. Suzaku told everyone he's in the military, but never told his friends exactly what he does.

Jon

the title does give the additional geass user away which takes a bit of suspense away but its ok. we really need to warn him about an upcoming episode title that will ruin things much worse, ya'll know the one

Mezchano

Yeah, though I think the cuts between their faces in these scenes makes it feel like they know but yeah he doesn't know, he just thinks Suzaku is part of some engineering unit.

Chrono 1002

I love how Luke most of the time freaks out when someone does something weird, but when the guy go around listening to C.C. like a crazy maniac he is like "Hmmm, interesting." Jokes aside, Shirley's and Leleuch's relationship is definitely quite tragic.

Subaquatic Toaster

A few people have mentioned this as well but Lelouche has no idea it's actually Suzaku in the Lancelot. For all anyone knows Suzaku's job is to tighten the nuts and bolts on the Knightmares. So there's no real point in using your Geass on the guy with the wrench.

Subaquatic Toaster

Just to clear it up since its not a spoiler and you bring it up very frequently. Lelouche's geass can only be used once on a person. It doesnt matter how much time has passed. They did say that it can only be used once on someone but I think you're sorta overthinking it by adding on another layer. No shade or anything, this is literally Overthinking: The Anime but this is one case where they did just state the conditions without really hiding anything

FaerieRose

The series was originally going to be broadcast during the dinner hour, but it was changed to a late night slot mid-production, hence the out of place “adult” scenes. The second season was written with the later air time in mind from the beginning.

Zero Shonen

¿Am I the only one that finds kinda "weird/annoying" when Luke calls C.C. as "CC" instead of "C2"? Not saying that I'm annoyed by Luke or anything like it, is just that I have never heard of someone calling her like that and I don't like it XD

Deion Garcia

Luke having a meltdown anytime ANY new character is introduced...

Mr. R

Not really, at 2:29 you even hear herself saying C Two. C.C. is just how it is written.

BRUNO Marques

Stop reading the episode titles. You don't want to be spoiled. There's at least 1 massive spoiler coming up. Seriously.

Dominik Knight

I love the ending of this episode, it hit so hard!!!

isaac basabe

You should have luke think about this, he's literally few episodes from this....

Mariano Amar

Me too. I spent quite a long time calling her CC, even while hearing her name be called C2

rostikowb

These are the titles of the episodes... I understand that if you want to go back and watch an episode again, you need to see a clear episode title, but why did the authors make them so direct? I remember reading one book where the chapter titles contained direct spoilers, for example, "Death of CharacterName"... It was so stupid, I had to write a program that would replace the chapter titles with numbers (it was an e-book)

Karina ~ Stirret

I even call her cc in spanish. I think when this anime came out many of us wasn't that fond to japanese yet. Just a year of watching anime don't get you there. Also, engrish is hard to get 🤣

JOSHUA A STERRETT

The thing about Lelouch is that he's fiercely protective of those he cares about. Nunally. Shirley. Anyone he gets close to, he wants to protect from all harm and ill. His instinct in that moment was screaming "Shirley is hurting. I have the ability to take away that hurt. I must take away that hurt." And never mind if it's in her best interests in the long-term. He would never have asked her to join the Black Knights; he wants her as far from the front lines as possible.

Khanh Minh

This. Why is it so hard for some to understand the reason why he erased her memories, I don't get it

Bryan Duarte

Cat > Lelouch, Yoki > Edward!

Bård Fredrikson

Worth noting that Geas is an English word that has a historic use. Most recognizable in the spell in D&D, it compels whoever is under its effect to do what the caster said they ought to do to the best of their abilities or suffer extreme negative effects from a failure to comply.

Sean

Funny, I've played D&D for over 25 years but didn't know of this Spell until at least a few years after I saw the anime.

It's been in the game for over 40 years, but it isn't the flashiest of spells, so it gets kind of overlooked. But it's power is kind of hard to overstate, especially when cast on a character that isn't particularly as strong as the player characters. For the PC's it is not as strong as it applies minor stat decreases that can be negated with some mingling. Even funnier is that the divine version of the spell is simply called "Quest", giving some idea to what idea of how the spell is used by religions in D&D.

Mrdevdev330

No, he should continue watching it the same way everyone else did for the first time.
