I can just recommend again to watch this anime in DUB. I normally prefer SUB most of the time, but here is so much that you have to pick up from inbetween the lines, from TV broadcasts or talks of side characters in the background that is all lost if you don't understand what they say. Because the subtitles only cover the main dialogue and none of the background talk. It gives the story SO MUCH more depth and most of the questions about the world were already answered in the first few episodes, but with SUB its missing.

This really was a Light vs. L battle in this episode (Light being Lelouch and L being Cornelia). As for the last episode, it was mostly just to introduce Suzaku to the school and get the other students to stop mistrusting Suzaku and consider him a friend.

There are many similarities between Light and LeLouch, but the biggest difference is that Light lack of emphaty, is just a son of a bitch: Light didn't care to kill his own family to feed his ego, but LeLouch actually care his own friends and Nunally over everything, he's not a 2 faces character like Light/Kira, Zero is just his = "The means" that justified the "End". But both are arrogants, and egocentric dudes.

As you may believe or not, those paper egg trays are great soundproofing! We built a small audio recording room using those back in the day. But only if you're considering the cheap route. We just sprayed them to match paint and voila instant sound proofing.

I do have to point out that Lelouch's story was concluded in its entirety years before Eren even became a titan in the manga. If anything, Lelouch is Eren's daddy and not the other way around.

I felt like the last episode did a good job of showing the two completely different worlds Lelouch is a part of. On the one hand you have hordes of people getting massacred, and on the other you have this sanitized school life where the big issue of the day is finding a cat

There definitely is some tonal shift throughout the entire series where episodes like the last one chasing a cat will temporarily break up the serious stuff going on. It may feel weird or out of place sometimes, but I actually like that about a lot of shows or even games from Japan. I'm playing through the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games right now and those have perfected this formula of a dark and mature 18+ story interrupted by absolutely silly and hilarious minigames and substories. It allows the story and its own characters to breathe a little bit and let the serious stuff settle in for yourself before continuing on with the heavy stuff. Western stuff is often either serious and gritty OR silly and funny but I like it when a story is showing both sides. And in the case of this show it also serves the purpose of showing the two faces and lives of Lelouch in contrast.

The food that you described is mochi, steamed glutenous rice flour mostly ball-shaped with/no filling (jelly, bean paste,fruit...), generally it's a dessert. What Suzaku eats is onigiri/rice ball - cooked rice packed into a shape, fillings are also optional but more on the savoury side also more solid (chicken/tuna...). Here she put a jam inside, what is like wtf... Probably a jab on Pokémon English translation of onigiri as jelly donut...

I think he mainly made that comparison because Lelouch said he was living in a meaningless act, destined to act out a "normal" life and die before achieving anything. That is similar to Light being bored of life because he pretty much has his whole future figured out already.

For the echo, at office we got some ceiling 'clouds' (fabric balls and cubes). Also curtains and carpets can help, also maybe (I'm just thinking aloud if fabric helps) you can just hang/put on a box/chair some seasonal clothes (jacket too thin for winter) in the room.

The contrast between last episode and this one is kind of the point. Britannians are laughing and joking around and living silly carefree lives. Meanwhile the Elevens are in ghettos and slums full of ruined buildings, fearing for their lives and being mercilessly gunned down on a whim. That sort of episode isn't just about bonding with the characters or to give a break from the seriousness, it's also a commentary on just how divided and unfair society is under Britannian Rule.

The biggest difference between the Shinjuku Ghetto battle against Clovis and the Saitama Ghetto battle against Cornelia wasn't the skill of Cornelia over Clovis, although that played a role. The biggest difference was that, in Shinjuku, they followed Zero's orders exactly. In Saitama, they stopped following orders. The greatest chess-master in the world can't win if his pieces move unpredictably. On the subject of comparing Lelouch to Light, I see some similarities, but there are three major differences. First: Lelouch cares about people other than himself. Everything he does he does to give Nunally a peaceful world where she can be safe and happy. (Well, most of what he does, at any rate.) Light cares for no-one but himself and his god complex. Second: Lelouch wasn't content to sit in his boredom. If you recall, he told C.C. that he'd been planning to overthrow Britania even without the Geass; the Geass simply accelerated his plans. Light had no ambitions, no plans, and no goals before he got the Death Note. Third: Lelouch is much smarter than Light.

The jelly-like thing you're talking about is probably a thing called "mochi". What you saw in the anime is different. that's just a rice ball with a filling. different texture and taste.

Lelouch's 'battle smarts' will evolve, no worries there. The key difference between Cornelia and Lelouch right now is Cornelia's ruthlessness and authority. If you notice Lelouch purposefully moves 'pieces' around to avoid any losses while Cornelia just has anyone who didn't follow her orders killed. On top of this, whatever Cornelia says, Britannians do. Lelouch has no rapport with this group he tried to help out, and they just end up being impulsive and give up hoping for mercy, which Cornelia has none of.

I wouldn't compare Eren to Lelouch too much, Eren was never a mastermind. He had uhhh a very "Omniscient" ability I won't spoil, but that's the only reason he could "plan" things out the way he did. Light is definitely a more apt comparison, specially seeing as these 2 anime Aired almost at the same time. In both the east and the west.

In regards to Episode 6 being out of place, they are and it's meant to contrast with the horrors of war (the world the brittanians live in vs the one that the Japanese "11's" are dealing with) whilst also building up some of the non-battle characters.

I think the lightheartedness of the previous episode is supposed to feel out of place. It's meant to contrast the dramatic difference between the living conditions of the Elevens and Britannians. While the Elevens are getting executed in the streets, the Britannians are laughing and joking and having a great time.

A lot of people agree with you on the last episode being kind of a bad tone, but it's meant to show something about the characters when they are not literally fighting for their lives. Consider it more of a character study on how interactions between characters are like instead of taking chasing a cat around campus too seriously.

I assume the squidgy treat you're referring too is mochi. They're alright. However, that's not what they're eating in the scene you were watching. They were eating are Onigiri (rice-balls). Which are more like a Japanese sandwich equivalent. You actually kind of missed the Joke of the scene too. Onigiri are typically filled with fish, egg, seaweed, etc. Not sweet things like jam (While not something never done, it's certainly not the norm). The Joke was that Cecile (A Britannia Native) made Suzaku Japanese food, but used Jam which caught Suzaku off guard. Weather intentional (as in experimenting) or a mistake I'm not quite sure.

Its funny cause it is mainly bad luck on his part. All those guys that bailed cause things to collapse faster than they should. Also having guys ingore his orders made his plan fail. He already had backups in his mind so its not really his fault. The only thing he didn't expect was the people to bail on him. But that is logical as well because nobody really knows Zero yet so why put full faith in him
