Regular Grayzone

Worst cold shoulder from a show I've ever experienced myself. It leaves you with no clear way for it to continue. If we lived in a world where shows regularly ended with either a good or bad ending, then this would be the perfect episode to end on for the worst possible outcome.

Won't lie. The show kinda lost me at this point. The story just gets a bit too weird :P The characters were the only reason I kept watching.

I love how, when you re-watch this series, every part of Father's plan is actually explained throughout the story. In Gluttony's Stomach, Ed found the mural left from Xerxes, which said; "I will strike God to earth become a perfect being." In the episode where we see the boys on the island for a month, they take about the principle of All and One, which alludes to the fact that you can think of all living things being part of one living system, hence the planet as a life form. This anime is so well written!

And at the beginning of the next episode, it even explains why the sun and moon together can be considered God, which I believe is also alluded to earlier in the series in a scene with the two brother as kids researching human transmutation.

It's not actually the God but it's what Father claims to the God. I think it's the truth of the world rather than the truth of an individual. Father tries to consume the truth of the world so that he can control every facet of the world. Alternatively, it can also be the truth of the solar system or galaxy since Father can control the sun. It definitely can't be God because an equivalent exchange didn't happen. An equivalent exchange to acquire God would be sacrificing all living beings in the universe probably.
