First two were from the Urusei Yatsura Remake from earlier this year. 3rd one was a remaster from the original 1981-1986 version.

Now I wanna rewatch Yuri on Ice lol. I wish I could watch that for the first time again.

If you wanna watch Sports Anime OPs, i recommend Yowamushi Pedal! Very nice series!

The first two OP are from the Urusei Yatsura remake, while the third is from the 1980s original version. Yuri on Ice is both a love story and a sports anime about competitive men’s figure skating. It’s really good, and only 12 episodes long.

The Urusei Yatsura remake was good, but let down by being too “safe” and avoiding anything that might even hint at being controversial (or even just unconventional). Being both risky and risqué was the bread and butter of the original and was what made it great, they would take pot shots at celebrities and include social commentary on current events. IIRC the English VHS tapes had liner notes to explain some of the events mentioned (“The character here is a reference to Politician X, who was infamous for doing Y.” kind of thing). I haven’t seen all of it, but the new show didn’t have any of this. It was funny and gorgeously animated, but kind of felt empty. (But that might just be nostalgia talking)

What do people think of having a reaction to all the Ranma 1/2 openings and endings? If you search for the YouTube channel name “ranma21ch”, they have playlists of all the openings and endings (the channel just has Ranma 1/2 OPs and EDs and nothing else!) Please tell me I’m not the only one who wants this!

Yeah, anime is amazing. I love watching Gundam SEED just because the battles in space are MASSIVE and have thousands of mechs fighting in the background, even if the focus is on the main characters. So, so, so epic!

Yuri on Ice is well worth watching. It's a wonderful story, beautiful animation, good music, and it has got humour, slice of life, drama, emotion, growth. It's just all around lovely. Also you get to learn a bit about figure skating. But if you watch it you should find the bluray/dvd version, since the animation on that is better than the Crunchyroll version.

Also, when Luke started describing the example of how an anime could be anything and went into the example story of guy works in an office and another guy comes in and it turns out to be an alien... it's not really a perfect match, but did anyone else's mind drift off to Level E? (That was a wonderful bit of insanity that I really should rewatch soon.)

Are you planning on reacting to Fairy Tail? I know when you watched the openings and OSTs you were very interested, and then I never saw anything more. IDC what others might say about FT it’s 100% worth it!
