And this, Luke, is why I would NEVER recommend you watch an ecchi anime. Not necessarily because you might not like it, but the sheer anxiety it would give you in watching it would take away from your enjoyment

One of us! One of us! I'm glad you're taking the comments to heart, a lot of anime has cheeky, ecchi and sometimes "out of place" moments, but the overall is a beautiful complete package. Keep the positive outlook, because the further you go the sooner you'll see people try to tell you the opposite and bring down the enjoyment you're having.

You are not wrong. He does rewind some times, but he still forgets sometimes and gets confused or misses the intent of a scene. Stein's Gate, for example, is very complicated already and has fast-paced dialog, and every character is a weirdo. Don't get me wrong, I still think Luke is great at reaction; in fact, he is the only anime reaction YouTuber that I stuck with. Just some constructive criticism, I would love for him to get even better and have a bigger audience.

Hopefully its not as long as the gap between Slayers Try & Slayers Revolution. I waited almost 11 years on that. Supposedly there was another Slayers novel in 2018 but that makes another anime more than 14 after Slayers Evolution R. That said, given Trigun got a Prequel/Reboot after nearly 25 years stranger things have happened.

Often, but not always for good reason. Good dubs are not common. Too often they are far more Americanized and the voices don't always fit as well as the original Japanese voices.

On the subject of having to overcome the vulgarity in the animes, unfortunately many animes use this to convince, because otherwise they would not get enough attention etc. but there are enough examples such as halt no game no life or food wars where this vulgarity is rather unnecessary and the story or the characters can carry the anime.

Not everyone likes dub. I personally hate it. Yes, it’s may be helpful in terms of catching up with every conversation, but that’s it. Japanese VA is something really unique, and it’s a really important part of an anime, of a characters. And western VA’s can’t convey needed emotions, personality and atmosphere of an anime character as good as Japanese VA’s.

Wrong, Food Wars depends on the fanservice. It isn't gratuitous, but actually works alongside the show, it fits and works perfectly. And the fact it's universal, they don't care if it's a hot girl, an old lady, a guy or an old guy, they just go for it makes it way more tasteful overall. It's an amazing way to represent how good the meal is. Now on No Game No Life it's a tad excessive for no reason. It's also a matter of tone. Shokugeki no Soma doesn't take itself too serious most of the time. It's overall a chill show and it plays to those strengths, in the serious moments it tends to cut off the fanservice to until the plate is served, which isn't the case for No Game No Life, sometimes they mix serious moments with fanservice which undermines the whole thing.

By 'fulfilled IRL' he's actually saying 'Riajuu,' which is basically a japanese slang for someone who lives a 'fulfilling' life in a normie way, for example has a lot of friends, a girlfriend, etc. Basically on the west we'd say someone who 'has a life' or is a normie.

I have never watched no game no life and have heard pretty good things about it in the past, i was really excited to see that you were reacting to it and found it very interesting to also see it for the first time alongside you, but i did find it very eye straining trying to read the subs. Not blaming you either but i am just stating it was harder to read and impossible at some points so I'll probably rewatch the first episode by myself, i also understand you dont like websites, but i cannot help myself to simply recommend zoro.bz its not something you have to use, but i doesn't have a single ad, it uploads the dub and subs, great subtitles, and just about all and every anime, gives you ratings, genre titles, and will tell you wether an anime is 18+ or not (might make it easier to determine how streaming safe it is) but i know how content you are with using official platforms and definitely do not hold you against it, it helps support the media anyway so you're just doing a favor to the production, but my recommendation is still there incase you have instances where simply official platforms just dont give enough credit and the vpn can only do so much.

season 2 will 99% surely not happen, the manga tapers off after season 1 because theyre no longer backed up against the wall. i feel this was more a thing to increase manga sales.

Eee... no. If he is reading comments, it doesn't matter if he has dub or sub - he will be missing stuff. Idea that you can read comments while dubs is going in the background and you "will not miss anything" is kinda dumb. I don't think it is good argument for dubs.

So happy you picked up this show. MCs come across as one of the most intelligent characters there are; well, IQ wise xD But seriously, this show has a very high rewatch value for me. Quite funny and inspirational. Also, yes, episode 6 is one of the biggest, badass episode in all of anime ever made and most people’s favourite. Can’t wait for you to react to this anime movie as well.

The dub was actually pretty bad. Even if there are subtitle issues, the dub is really really bad. And I don't mean just by the acting. The audio levels were all messed up in the dub. I felt like the dub track was way to quiet compared to all the other sounds. So yeah dub is bad. I am also surprised he had trouble with 9anime website as even without an adblocker I've never had problems on 9anime.

Realy? So let's say you are listening to a song while doing something else; one is in your native language, another is not, and it has subtitles, that you look back and forth, would you have pretty much the same understanding of both? I am pretty sure that while watching something and looking at your phone, if you heard something like "we found out that Jonny is the murderer" it would catch your attention. Also, I never said he wouldn't miss anything, just that it would be an improvement.
